Title: TuTu Mar 5 2013 - ACO GT2 Road Cars
Post by: TheHotstepper on February 27, 2013, 01:29:26 PM
Someone requested MR cars for this week. So here we go:

Between 2006 and 2009, the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest, organizers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans) ran a class called GT2 (which still exists). This week we are running any of the road car versions in GT5 that had a race car variant that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the GT2 class in this time period. Car list is below.

Car: Any from the list below

Setup: Oil Change. Paint/wheels allowed. Power Adjustment mandatory - no other tuning.

Restrictions
PP: 495
Tires - Racing Hard (normal wear)
Tuning - Prohibited
Lounge: TuTuTuna
Opening Track: Monza (no chicane)

Complete List of Acceptable ROAD Cars:
RUF RGT '00 (as a stand in for the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR)
Ferrari F430 '06 (NOT THE SCUDERIA)
Spyker C8 Laviolette '01

Note: Not all cars may reach the 495pp limit. Others will be way over and need to be scaled back.

If everyone follows rule #1 we'd need no other rules
Rule #1 = Pay attention

Wow, I like this one  :)

I think I'll be "down and dirty" in a 430!  :D

I don't think I want to be "in the buff" in a RUF - I feel nekkid in that thing.  I am more of a down and dirty kind of guy.  I will be eating Italian with a grass salad  with extra sand and a large order of walls. :yum

After testing, I might EVEN drive that Piker the Spyker, but not sure, they're all competitive, including the  usually "not for me" RGT.   This is going to be a fun EVNET! Speed, chicanes, chills and thrills - it haz it all! :D Yee Haa! Let'er rip!

Actually, Stepper, if you have new vehicles, then all of the cars will qualify with the minimum PP after an oil change.  If not a new car, then either use an engine restore or better yet, a vehicle restoration ticket. 8)

The cars at 495PP are very competitive.  ;D

Also, also, we didn't get a lap count, but I was comfortably cruising sub 1:52 minute laps in all of them, so 6-7 laps will run about 14-15 mins., or about 4 races/hour. ;D

Even though it's more likely I won't make it than I will, I did look thru my garage last night and didn't find a spyker, anyone got a spare/clone they can shoot me in case I do make it?  Do have the woof already, thanks!

Is there an "Official List of Cars? I tried to find it within the Tuna Forum really... then I googled up the 2006 Lemans GT2 cars and noticed an Aston Martin, A C6-R Vette and a 550 Ferrari  can the DB9 and 599 be subbed for these two and can we use the C6 Z06? Looks Like fun.  8)

My sincere apologies for the ruckus I caused the first race I joined going thru turn 1&2...  I've been out of practice, and that car behaved way differently in practice than it did lap one!  I think after that I cleaned up for the most part and had a lot of fun super close racing, but I do hate to make a scene  :-[

that was real fun last night.

good crowd with some good racing!

there were a couple of spins in front of me that I couldn't avoid hitting... but wasn't trying to ram through.  sometimes you just gotta hold yer line and hope for the best... swerving sometimes causes bigger problems, ya know?

By the time I joined, the last of the caravan was leaving, so I am sorry I missed the racing.

However, I had not used the RUF before and I wanted to give it a try. I went into the wild and joined a half decent bunch of drivers at 500 PP and was competitive without much of a tune. It handled very tamely compared to the Yellow Bird, so I will look at using it some Monday night.

Lots of fun last night.. The 430's and the RGT's were lots of fun and very competitive.  The Spyker seem to be a bit more to handle than the other two.
