In, if I can make date/time.
Nevermind. I am a DOLT...
I'm all in. Even though I'm not much of a fan I'll go with Carl Edwards for drivers and I'll race the 99 car.
I've got a question though. You state minimum down force. Can we add down force? I ask because my car has an annoying wobble in the turns, I'm thinking a slight increase in aero might help tune that out.
It will be interesting with the sports hard tires.

It feels good in solo runs but I got a feeling in a group we may move around more that the Group C cars did on racing hards. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Now I just gotta work on my wobble. :( ... Maybe its a controller thing. I'll have to try the wheel and the DS3.

Qualifying next week Wednesday. Don't worry if you can't make it, as we will run the 125's for those who missed qualifying.
Don't forget, 2 TIMED laps only. :)
Tire and fuel wear are tunafied you say?
You want Jimmie's Johnson Rick?

My wife might, but I'm not much into tube steak. As far as my driver choice, just add someone for me. I don't follow NASCAR or any racing for that matter, so I can only name a handful of guys. I'll take whoever.

You should be Juan Pablo Montoya

Isn't he the dipshit who tried to burn the place down last year?

I still haven't done anything yet. Didn't we have a Nascar tune posted somewhere around here?

Here is a link that has some. It's fairly old and I don't know how well it works with the new physics but it's a start.

How is the qualifying going to work by the way. If we are not there on Wednesday and show up for the 125's does it affect where we start? And vice versa.
One of the things I noticed recently is that a lot of races seem to have fuel and tire wear set at fast or very fast. I thought we all agreed that PD butchered the original set up in the game where you could get like one lap at Suzuka before you started to show wear and the tires got slippery. I expected more to see more and more races with normal wear, but that doesn't seem to be the case (granted, I don't race in every event, but I've been trying to make sure you guys get plenty of opportunities to see me lately (http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss272/james_mikel/STGT%20forum/zLOL.gif) ).
What's the fascination with slippery tires and pitting?
Just wanted to verify the HP figure is correct at 571??? When I took my brand new JPM Chevy to get an oil change it showed 571 PP after the change. Cutting HP to 571 requires engine limiter at over 66%. This is correct?
OP should be up to date.
Dumb question time...is qualifying even relevant at Daytona? If someone Q's last, they can still be in the lead by the end of the first lap.
I have no idea about Dinger. The OP said any 2010-11 NASCAR, so I picked one that wasnt taken
Chevy, I would send you one but I know I don't have that one. I do have half a dozen if anyone needs one.
The car you drive does not have to be tied to your pick for the race. There will be 43 drivers on the actual race the game lets us choose what maybe 9 or 10.
what room are we using for this :-\
Update to laps of the heats for the 125 tonight they will have 15, 15 and 35 laps respectively.

Not so much here. Killed in the first race, but no pit stops. Killed in the second race, but no pits stops.
You know what Rick things don't always go smoothly in real life. Think back to all the delays in the 2012 Daytona 500. Your driver, Montoya, hit a jet dryer under yellow causing an hour or more delay. Goofy shit happens both in real and cyber lifves. Bailing is your choice and shitting all over it is your choice too. But in the end I will pay attention to those opinions coming from those who rode it out more so than I will yours.
Charlie is looking good with Danica on pole.
Danica on pole has an interesting ring to it. LOL

Well said, Baked.

No problem.
Don't know if thats sarcasm or not but I will take it positively, thanks.
id like to run in a tuna cup series with these cars and rules tracks mixed ovals and road courses like DRC and HSR or maybe grand valley tracks that have smooth lines so 2 wide is possible on most of the track. ???
Damn Agent with a perfect score of 2 had a great Speedweeks congrats sir.
I think it's safe to say, that as long as we continue to run the Daytuna 500 we will never have another double winner. Way to go Agent! :)
Nicely done Baked, Leaf and badboots with your excellent team picks. :) I should have taken Juan myself Rick. LOL.

lol, I saw this and ASSumed that it was on this past Sunday, and that some of you joined the GT Sats race for a bit of practice... as it turns out some of you may have been looking for a bit of a do-over, but sadly ours was plagued with similar procedural problems etc.

Cautions seem to cause nothing but problems as far as I'm concerned.
We will have to plan for a Let the chips fall where they may 500. Having one standard tire might settle things down a bit too.

I've noticed a variety of things over the past weeks. First, some guys (not necessarily from these waters) simply refuse to use the brake. Second, some guys (not necessarily from these waters) think you can win the race on the first lap. Third, some guys (not necessarily from these waters) think they're real life racers and do what the big guys do...bump drafting the whole way around the track. Sure, it works sometimes. However, other times, not so much. Last night there was one race in particular where I was in a Maserati Gran Turismo and Boston was in the Alfa Romeo 8C. Those cars did not like to run together. Finally, some guys (not necessarily from these waters, though there are a handful, me included) just aren't capable of running close to other cars.
I agree that if you wreck and there's no caution the rest of the race is going to suck for you. Maybe what we can do is have an enduro broken into smaller races. Five 40 lap races or ten 20 lap races, something like that so if you fuck up, you're not bored for the next two hours. Take the sum of all the races, best time wins the overall event.
Rick run one however you like I will do my best not to shit all over it before it is even over. Which will be easy because I have zero interest in a race that will last more than an hour and not offer a caution. Little races to make one big one is a step backwards in my eyes. Going back to gt5p but not as cut up. A race like that lacks the flow and feel of actual race event.
