Like they said about the cars.  I like the drivers suit better than the in game suits and the paint chips are cool. Its nice having a tone of Chrome and Matte colors and the blues do make a good Tuna blue.

The standard red bulls I don't care for but I have a slight hope that either the non fan car or the jr. may make a semi-good indy car substitute.

The AI varies from horrible to somewhat ok.  For NASCAR, I ended up picking one guy and bump drafting him.  That allowed me to stay closer to the front where it was a little safer.  Still, I must have gotten lucky the first time, because last night I was trying to get the .01 trophy with the NASCAR at Daytona race and I was getting nailed all over the place.

Ditto. I bump drafted P1 AI until final turn. And to Chrome HSR was a bitch on the final turn. It took me many tries.

I will start logging in everyday now for the bonus, but even though I have left work early I have been too tired to play. I  plan on firing getting back in this weekend.  8)

I was pretty sure they'd change that, eventually.

Since we do see a lot of stupid things fixed in this update, there's a chance we'll see many more fixed as well.

Hopefully they don't bork up the things that already work!!!!

I'm still amazed that after 4 or 5 years of preparing for this release, they still have to update it once a week to fix shit.  It's like no one there actually plays the games before they're released.

there's a LOT of stuff like this that still needs fixing, for sure.  A lot of stuff that just doen'st make any sense, that someone should have spotted prior to the discs getting pressed.

BUT, I will say the mitigating factor here is that the game was at least released on time.  I suppose in typical PD fashion (heck, let's admit it, it's t ypical perfectionist fashion) they focus on the behind the scenes stuff like the underlying programming of vehicle behavior ect. but don't see the painfully obvious stuff like a menu button being wrong, or something.

I think if the game came out two months later, a lot of this pollishing wouldn't have been necessary.  But, then we'd still either be playing GT5 or not at all, so I don't know how to weigh those two options other than to say, I am having a lot of fun with this title, so I'm glad it's out!

In the end, we are the beta testers, unfortunately.

Looks like the new Redbull / Vettel events are a pretty decent cash cow right now, even with just the 1 day (110%) bonus I got just over 1.5mil credits for for about 45 minutes worth of racing.  There's a 4 race Kart championship and a 5 race Redbull X Jr one, single races are about 5 minutes a piece and range from about 65k-90k with a decent Champion bonus at the end (not counting the login bonus) and you get free cars at the end of each one too so don't buy them unless you want multiples.  Also good news the aids are all adjustable so if you don't want SRF or TC on you don't have to have them, and in the case of the Karts it's forced OFF anyway.

As much as I detest the full X1 type cars I have to admit that the X2014 Jr is actually not that bad, the event puts you on Racing Soft tires and with it's downforce it's almost impossible to spin out unless you do something obviously stupid and it's not nearly as fast as the full cars so it's a relatively nice drive.  On lesser tires like Racing Hard or even Sports Soft and with the aero turned way down (default is 800 front / 900 rear) I actually think it might make for a pretty decent spec racing vehicle.
