VW is seriously ugly... agree

the toe thing is weird.  Since both of the cars I drove last night were new, I didn't know if it was just those cars or all???

There must be some method to that, due to the physics change.  I think we should test and tune for a while before we know whether these changed default settings are a mistake.

I wonder if Sony's networks are under attack again and that's causing some of the instability problems, I don't know when it started but "recently" there seems to have been a regular and consistent robot spam barrage at least on the PSN Forum (at least in the GT section, don't know about any others).  So I wonder if maybe there's something more going on than just a ton of message spam.

Regarding the cars, I think you only actually have to buy the Lexus CCS-R (which was pretty cheap, like 200k) and the Toyota Hybrid LMP car (though that one I assume is 2mil or so, didn't look).  The bi-focal VW Vision GTi can be won for free from the seasonal event and for some reason I already had that Nissan Youtube GT-R car in my garage already, assuming I'm looking at the right car I just thought it was a "thanks for participation and / or getting Gold" gift since the Academy finished.

Lexus---120k.....a bargain, great car
Toyota--2 million....I'm not going to bother with it.
YouTube GTR---Don't remember what it cost, but if you ran a Gold time in the final round of GTA, you got one free.

Also, I'm ready for 1.10

Hi PD, thank you very much for recent updates(especially this last one). If its not too much trouble could you please address the issue where entire rooms  implode  :o
Thank you for your attention to this detail

I think it might be a PSN Notwork problem. I was having troubles before I even fired up the game yesterday. I was checking my network connection speed from the XMB and it was all over the place, it even failed twice. My PS3 is the only device on my network with problems.

I was doing an A-spec championship last night (yep, I still have many left to do) and was signed out of PSN with no other network issues on my LAN.  Then, signing in took a while to do.  Probably not just GT, but PSN as a whole.

GTPlanet has a question and answer thread to PD and Kaz.

It appears that Kaz is going to start opening up a little to his fan base.  The most asked question was about the sound of the cars in GT.

Kaz has started a blog called pitstop (or something like that) and started to address the question.  I say started because he only half answered the question and then said "to be continued".  He did admit that the sounds are not good though.  Baby steps.

The next question with the greatest amount of votes is about the Track Creator, followed closely by livery editor.  I really hope to get concrete answers on these but I won't bet on it.

Check out the thread and follow as Kaz leads us in circles with more questions than before.

ya I noticed the spam barrage at psn, hopefully they'll be able to get whatever it is sorted out. apologies to PD if its not their fault

On the subject of camber...... I've mostly been messing with it on the Ford GT test car. I set it back to stock value, which on this car, has 1.5 up front and 3.5 on the rear. This seems backward to what we've known ingame and what you see in real life. However it does seem better than at 0-0. I'll keep you posted on progress and appreciate any observations.

an interesting collaboration, because Ben Collins is reportedly very involved in helping to evaluate PCARS' physics engine etc., though that may be in an unofficial capacity.

http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/news/00_1153498.html

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the creators of the highly-acclaimed Gran Turismo® series, Polyphony Digital Inc. (PDI), today announced exciting plans for a long-term innovative partnership. The FIA’s role as the governing body of motor sport worldwide, and the representative of almost 80 million road and track users from 141 countries on five continents, will help grow the direct relationship between the millions of fans of Gran Turismo and the real-world of motor sport.

To mark the start of this collaboration, Gran Turismo®6 will become the first-ever video game to feature FIA-certified content. Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation®3, which launched late last year, has been granted an FIA certification for four of the game’s world-famous tracks. The virtual circuits in Gran Turismo have been recreated in intricate detail. The track inspection for each was conducted by FIA officials who visited PDI’s development studio in Tokyo, where Gran Turismo 6 track models were accurately compared to FIA standards. Other tracks included in Gran Turismo 6 will be subject to inspection in order to obtain certification by the FIA in the near future.

As a second key element of the partnership, FIA & PDI plan to launch an official FIA Online Championship in 2015 with the intention of offering the large number of Gran Turismo players and motor sport fans the opportunity to engage with real motor sport.

Jean Todt, President of the FIA said: “This innovative new partnership will ensure that millions of Gran Turismo and motor sport fans can race on even more detailed tracks at home. The Gran Turismo series has played an important role in helping to attract a new fan base to motor sport. With the input of FIA in the development of the upcoming FIA Online Championship, Gran Turismo 6 will now offer an experience even closer to the real world of motor sport. We are also excited to be working closely with Polyphony Digital and Sony Computer Entertainment in the future to find new ways to continue to make motor sport more accessible to millions of fans that share a passion for racing.”

Polyphony Digital President and Gran Turismo franchise Creator, Kazunori Yamauchi: “We are incredibly proud for the Gran Turismo Series to be officially certified by the governing body of world motorsports. In the over 15 year history of Gran Turismo, this has to be the biggest accolade we have ever received. I believe this will be a major step to forward our mission to connect our virtual and real racing worlds in a full circle, thereby expanding the population of car and motorsports enthusiasts in the world."

Jacques Berger, Head of Safety at the FIA said: “It was not until we completed the tests between our track data and the game’s track data that we fully appreciated the level of work and attention to detail that goes into the development of Gran Turismo 6. It was not just the tracks that have been precisely mapped out, but also the surrounding landscapes such as the run-off areas, grandstands and buildings.”

FUCKING WOW this could be a big deal. The FIA is involved all over the world with all levels of series and types of vehicles and tracks my god, the tracks PD might of just got their foot in the door with this relationship.

indeed, it could.  I don't pretend to know how all this all connects, but hopefully we see more tracks, and more cars in specs that can be raced together.

this may also be one of those things where the partnership doesn't necessarily have a lot of tangible benefits, but may contribute to the flavor and authenticity of the game in ways we don't articulate when we speak about the game, but would still "feel" nonetheless.

It's all sort of vague, so we'll need to find out exactly what this means.

The best news of all of this is that they are talking about GT6 and not "7".  That means "6" is around for a while longer and will grow quite a bit, still.

Think of 4 real world tracks we have and think of a racing series that uses these 4 tracks. (Possible addition of new tracks added as this is aiming for 2015) Now it would be possible to compete on the same tracks at the same time with similar vehicles as to its real world counterpart.

If I took a guess right now. It would be WEC as we already have a number of those tracks. 2014 season- Silverstone, Spa, Le Sarthe, (Missing Circuit of the Americas), Fuji, (Missing Shanghai International), (Missing Sakhir) and (Missing Interlagos)
