A possible wrench in the works for some, including myself.

On the Apple side of things, I can confirm the app will only be available on iPads. For Android, I'm not so sure, as the line between phones, phablets, and tablets is a bit more blurry, but I would expect similar limitations.

Well that sucks. I am lucky I do have an iPad so you are welcome to come over and use mine.  :)

I'm not ready to break out the pitchfork, and flaming stick yet. PD has always been criptic as hell.  One phrase that someone pointed out on GTP, this news is just about the "Course Maker companion app". Suggesting that it may be in addition to controls that will be in game as well. I hope.

There's a Russian guy posting screenshots that already has the app, and showed you could download a map, and draw on it. So at least in shape, you'll be able to recreate any track you can locate a layout of.

Also, you could use an app emulator for your PC. Here's one

Dumb question.  Would a Kindle Fire be a usable device?   I know nothing about tablets.  I may have to go the emulator route.

a lot of whiny brats on GTP complaining about tablet only, but the interface looks like it works very well for it.  Functionality of something like this straight on the PS3 would be more cumbersome to use, IMO.

I do not yet know whether my phone or tablet works, maybe then I'll be pissed like the rest of them ???

gotta go DL!

I "think" the Kindle Fire is basically an Android tablet but I'm not 100% sure.

As for the Course Maker itself, I'm going to wait and see what we actually get before I get too excited or upset as it's still got potential to be a great success or huge let down.  I just hope that whatever the tablet / phone app thing is, it's for everyone and not a fruity exclusive.

Just tried it on my Samsung S5, and got "this app is incompatible with your device." So as of right now, I can't do anything with it.  :P

Seems even some tablet users may be fucked.  Why PD, why?

@Dlr  Hold off on that Kindle for now, as it seems the app is not compatible according to a post on GTP.

There are two tablets I can use in my house, but I'm still not impressed by this. It really should be part of GT6, or perhaps a separate 'game' you can download and play on PS3. If not it should be readily available on any computer platform - windows, mac, ipad, andoid, etc. If I didn't have two tablets, I would be royally pissed off.

It looks really good for those with the tools to use it. People are posting pictures (and a video) on the planet already. I look forward to using it. There will be some good tracks that come from this.

because it is not a tablet.  Same phone here, btw.  My tablet appears to be compatible, but it says not available in my country, thus far.
