Late last night, I was checking my phone wondering why the qualifying results weren't up on my BBC RSS feed.  Turns out qualifying was delayed due to heavy rain.

It looks like Marussia has certainly picked up the pace over last year. Caterham had them beat every week but it looks like they'll have solid competition for each other all year.

Williams seems to have fallen back a bit too.

Also: super glad to see Massa picking up where he left off last year.

They picked up an excellent driver. Jules Bianchi he drove 3 different manufacture cars during the young drivers test and was extremely fast in all three. Bianchi was very close to having a ride at Force India this year, but Force India went with Sutil against my better judgement. He is a rookie to keep an eye on.

Massa got hosed again by his team in favor of Alonso.

Maldonado is not a fantastic driver in my opinion. What he brings to Williams is 30 million dollars. Unfortunately there seems to be an over abundance of pay drivers, which leaves little room for very fast drivers.

Maldonado's $30 million is in question right now. He is sponsored by PDVSA, the state-owned Venezuelan oil company. This sponsorship deal was personally okay'd by Hugo Chavez who has since croaked. We'll see if Maldonado is around next year or even if he finishes this year.
