So apparently this game doesn't simulate wet weather driving real well.  I'm 16 seconds faster than real life!

Sepang Q

I sort of enjoyed this one, as I don't have much experience with this particular track.  I always enjoy learning new tracks.  Although the main thing I learned about this track is that it sucks, in my opinion.  I find that it's unnecessarily difficult and doesn't really flow.  It screams Tilke all the way around.  :P

That F1 game is probably for last years cars. This year the cars have a lot less downforce and overall harder tires. In the wet the lack of downforce and harder rubber would make for a bigger gap. Although 16 seconds is quite a bit of time.

Also, their times were set on full wet tires not intermediates. The colors may have changed from what they were, but this year inters are green full wet blue.

It's kind of silly how dominant the Mercedes is.  It's pretty surprising how good the Red Bull is considering they are not running a Mercedes engine.  I was worried that this season was going to be a write off with Mercedes being more dominant than RB ever was but man there was some really, really good racing today.  Very exciting.  Too bad for that boneheaded move by Maldonado.  Those new lower noses look dangerous to me.

Vettel 11th WOW.

It is the first year with new engine changes, brought about by Renault, by the way. The pecking order goes Mercedes, Ferrari and then Renault. I should look for a team PU list, (Power Unit) because it involves combustion engine and multiple ancillary devices that do not seem to be too much of an ancillary device. As in if one is off the whole package is kaput.

Anyway today's race was good and bad. We get the bad out of the way first, which would be a yellow brought out by Lotus driver Maldonado, on lap 41. It was an over take move that could never work, in which he managed to spear Esteban Gutierrez :(.

The good was some interesting racing between teammates in an attempt to achieve dominance within the there respective team. Inter team and engine manufacture battles will be exciting to watch this year. The packages are so complex that all aspects of the car must be at their best to achieve a good result.

Well off we go to China in two weeks. Oh yes why not some final results.

Ret   9   Marcus Ericsson   Caterham-Renault   33   +24 Laps   20
Ret   25   Jean-Eric Vergne   STR-Renault   18   +39 Laps   14
Ret   99   Adrian Sutil   Sauber-Ferrari   17   +40 Laps   22
Note - Ricciardo qualified third, penalised 10 grid places for unsafe release at previous round. Sutil qualified 18th, penalised 5 grid places for forcing Grosjean off track in Q1.

Also, Hamilton is on a push to equal up the points with Rosberg. Even on softer tires Rosberg could/ would/ was told not to, push through. He still has a large point advantage and has no reason to push his equipment. The season may come down to a retirement battle, due to the new regulations.

Also, also, I will see if I can find the radio transcript for this race. It is always enlightening to go over what was said by the drivers during the race.
