12/12/13 ToC - Project Genesis
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:59:45 AM »

================
Class in Session
================

Project Genesis
Much like the Star Trek project, this car will hopefully breath new life into an underrated automotive Marque and thus we use it to bring about the first new ToC life in GT6.  It's actually not a bad car in game either, I like to think of it as the fat cousin of the Scion FR-S!

Car
2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track

=======
Track:  Apricot Hill Raceway
=======

When: Thursday, December 12rd
Official Running Time: 8-11:00pm EDT
Lounge Comment:  TOC - Genesis
Lounge Owner:  whoever gets on first and wants to start it up!
Lounge Setting:  Private / friends only
Lounge HP Limit:  414hp
Lounge KG Limit:  1380kg
Driving Aids Allowed:  Traction Control, ABS, Driving Line
Car Setup: limited parts (see below)
Tires:  Sports Hard
Grid:  Reverse grid based on previous results
Start Times:  Auto clock set to 5 mins
Lap Count: 5 (more if too short)

Parts List

Sports Computer
Sports Exhaust
Sports Cat
Weight Reduction Stage 1

Oil change + GT Auto parts are allowed (Carbon hood for aestetic, please add 5 kilos ballast)

Brand new 0 miles cars should come in at 411hp / 1385kg.

Wrinkles:  None! Race clean, race hard, have fun!

ALSO:  All around not a bad car especially for the price, handles well enough and has a decent amount of power right out of the box for the price.  For our purposes we're adding a bit of cheap pep to it's step though :), total build cost including the price of the car should be around 45k I think (not counting wheels, paint, etc).  The Stage 1 weight reduction was a last minute addition due to it feeling a bit heavy / pushy with the extra power, fortunately it comes with Sports Hard tires so that's one less cost and should more than cover the weight reduction.

The power mods / oil change should put the car at 411hp so with the room's nearest setting of 414hp it allows a little space for any break-in power increase.

ALSO ALSO:  I'll try and get on at a reasonable time and start the room myself since it's the first ToC of the new game but don't wait around for me specifically, if someone wants to start it up at any time on Thursday please do :).

Post updated with more words and pretty pictures, huzzah!  I made a last minute decision to add the weight reduction this morning and don't know the actual number yet for the room settings but I'll check later and post it tonight.  Oh since it's a time change track (I think, right?) it starts around 10am and on a reasonably slow time change by default though if anyone's interested in doing some evening / night / morning racing or having a fast time change on so we can see the transitions that's fine with me :D.

Alien: Genesis, planet forbidden!
Takes permits, many
Money, more!

McCoy: There aren't going to be any permits.
How can you get a permit to do a damned illegal thing?!

Sounds like a fun format.  Will try to attend.

Thanks guys, glad you all had as much fun with the track and car as I did :D.  Defintely a surprisingly fun car even with the very basic modding we did, I can see it being a nice low budget tuner (at least in GT6 terms) with even a little bit of proper tuning (just a suspension and LSD even) and some softer tires.

Goos times!

Sorry that I missed this one. I entered the room w/ the wrong car. Thought that it was the right one. I'm in the tuning screen w/ 180 hp thinking this is goin to cost a fortune to tune to 410 hp. So I bailed . Then I see that I was in My Dino. So I switch cars, tune, it enter room, and got disco'd. I went back to A Nat. events and did some grinding. 1.3 million creds now.
