Title: Do I have a problem?
Post by: BakedTuna on May 23, 2014, 09:00:20 PM
Not sure if I should be ashamed of how much time and the amount of miles my stats is claiming I have put in so far. Thought I would ask to see where others stand before assuming the worst, so lets hear it y'all where you at so far?

Should I be ashamed that I have absolutely no clue what any of my Gran Turismo stats are? ;D  If I remember I'll check and see what my stats actually are, but if it helps I can tell you I've put a little over 200 hours into Farming Simulator 2013 and just under 300 hours in Kerbal Space Program.. not sure how that compares to miles in GT6 but I'm fairly sure it's quite a lot of time spent ploughing fields and launching rockets at the moon :lolz.

So I decided to look:

FYI GT3 info is not an accurate total.  I played though it 5 times start to finish and then some. I put over 10,000 miles on several of my cars in my first game save. The one below is save 5 or 6.

GT1: no surviving save file
GT2: no surviving save file
GT3: 15,965.8 miles, 677 races, 98.8%, 22 million earned, 15 million in bank, Day 555.
GT4: 6,207 miles a-spec, 15,367 miles b-spec, 678 races, 70.2%, 15 million earned, 3.4 million in bank, day 1523.
TT: 9.2% (never could get into this game)
GTHD: no info
GT5P: no info
GTPSP: 24,511.6 miles, 200+ million earned, 513,766 in bank, 1738 wins, day 387
GT5 Time Trial: no info
GT5: 89,491.9 miles, 1110 wins, 19 million in bank, day 2212. (I forgot my %)
GT Academy 2012: 165.6 miles
GT Academy 2013: no info
GT6: 8,519.8 miles, 291 races, 72%, 32 million earned, 15 million in bank, day 456.

updated to add GTPSP.

That's impressive dlr... I don't even know if I could look all that up. But I do have my GT2 save game file around somewhere...

In any case, Baked, I ran every car I purchased in GT5 at the Top Gear Test Track - all 856 cars I ended up buying (and I killed our Bench Board in the process).

I ran two laps - as hard as I could, to get the best time. I compiled it in Excel:

Year   Make   Model   Power   Weight KG   LB/HP   Time   Tires   PP
2011   Gran Turismo   Red Bull X2011 Prototype   1585   545   0.76   00:37.429   RC Hard   974

(idk how to get a fancy table)

My goal was to do every car in the game. But then I got a girlfriend. So it goes.

Think of all the productive things I could've done with that time!

To answer: NO, you don't have a problem. These games are just addicting.

I'm curious to find out how many miles I have.  I'll look it up soon.

Steam tells me I have spent 184 hours on Race 07, and I've played GT waaaaaaaayyyyyy more than Race 07.

I don't think you have a problem.

With 900 hours, 500 races and over 15k miles, I'd say your not the one with the problem. (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

Some how I have fewer hours but more mileage than you do Brindle. I am wondering how accurate the stats truly are.

Or how they count. 80% of my time is practice/tuning, with 20% racing. Maybe time always counts, but mileage is race only?   :-\

Well my fellow "junkies"  :D say there is no issue. I am good with that case closed. There is no problem to see here. Just a man enjoying a decent driving sim.

21,146 miles in gt6 and I think I need more seat time to get quicker. I guess I just need to accept I'm slow.  (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

Also, discovered today from some Academy play. This could be the fix for lock ups @ Bathurust. Go to Options/ Game Data/ Auto-Install Function set to OFF.

I'm obviously not playing as much as others.

8,400+ miles, and 94 hours.

Oh, this might be good news for my favorite track.

Can you please explain a little more?  Go to track,  hit start button, the option list drops, and I'll find this feature there?  Gosh, I hope this works!

Thanks Dude.

Load Game. Hit start button on controller. Select Options. Game Data. Auto-Install Function. Set to OFF.

It seems to have worked for me so far and I locked up earlier today just before I changed it.

I'm too lazy to go check my GT3, 4 and 5 stats right now but I just crossed the 10.000 mile mark on GT6 last week, If any one has a problem it's me.

On Monday night night it finally happened. After a few hundred thousand miles on Gran Turismo let alone all the miles I have put on Home and other various games as well as my wife and brother's gameplay the controller finally shit out. But wait, this controller is the only one that has not gone stupid with randumb button locks and shit like that, What do I do....

Simple, take it apart. I successfully swapped the outer casing and the left control stick. Not as easy as one would think, but easy enough.

Here are some pics of several hundred thousand miles of ware and tear for your amusement.

Note the steering marks. the notable upper arch is from Peakvox Ninja on home, the grinding and eventual breakage at the bottom is from GT5 and 6

Admire that glorious throttle and braking mark, that's not oil, that is actually a hand carved dimple, carved with just my right thumb :D

A picture of my left stick compared to a normal one

So yeah, we have killed two other purchased ones during this ones life time so this one did not take all the mileage. But, I guarantee this one has at least 200,000 Gran Turismo on it, it is the controller that came with the console and the first one to see use in GT5.

I have had two days off since May 5th with a few doubles thrown in. So my seat time has suffered drastically. Even with this recent drought I am at 20.5K miles and 530 hours on gt6 so far.

I'm at 4,941 miles and 53.6 hours and just hit 100% A-spec and never turned a lap online. I'll join you guys next week online sometime, I'm heading to Sebring tomorrow so I'm trying the real thing again and will be away from the rig for a few days.  :)

There is no problem playing GT.  :-*

I don't know about any other stat, but I had to do some math, a while ago.
I had 330 laps at Numbnumbering. It's probably closer to 400 now.

Keeping it under the speed limit. I like your style.

Like, when Top Gear went to the western U.S. and no matter how fast they went, the Speedometer always stopped at 55mph :D :D
