This thing has brought back the only 2 memories I have of ever driving this layout of Motegi from previous games: 1. there is an underpass. 2. I hate this track.

Why are all the corners so awkward? There is no flow at all and they are all stupid tight. Good one, Honda.

Also, when I started round 8 the thing pops up and says "these are the times that count" or whatever. I thought it was for every test in the round, not just the TT. I was so pumped that I beat Hey (my barometer of success at the moment) at one of them, only to find I'm 3.5 seconds behind him and Wiz and Fried where it counts.  >:(

Stepper, just remember that 75% of the tight corners on this track are descending apexes, so you need to REALLY slow the car on entry or else you'll run out of track. It is an awkward track that I've never liked, but if you remember not to come into the corner to hot you'll come out a lot faster.

Nice times guys, I'd love to see a Tuna close the deal and go to the finals!!  :jimi:

That video is pretty ridiculous.  He's so smooth you don't realize how much speed he is carrying.  I noticed that he short shifts into 3rd several times, which is something I haven't been doing.  Hopefully this will aid me in my quest  :P

:stoopid: the short shifting thing really caught my attention. I've noticed I can hammer it out of the corners (without feathering it) if I short shift, as it keeps the revs down and the tail from wanting to pass me.

^^BINGO!

Other than the shifting though, my driving line seems almost identical to his.  I paid attention to where he starts braking at the end of the straightaways and that is "slightly" different.  Just gotta work on smoothness I guess.  Only spent an hour or so on this track thus far so I'm just getting started  :D

All the fast guys I ever asked said "Smooth is fast". They also said "Slow in fast out".

I've been working on perfecting a combo of the two. A sort of quick mashup to achieve ludicrous speed. "Slow is fast".   ???

That mystical Tuna_girls was right next to P_stank last night in the rankings. I thought that was pretty funny.
