This is the final week of Gt Academy. I have mostly done nothing, but I do want to spend a little time each evening to try and improve. Right now I lose tons of time at the esses and Stowe is quite upsetting.  ^-^

i'm hoping to improve again too, though I've taken a break to do some of the TT's in GT5 which are less populated due to Academy ;)

Not sure, but I may currently be the top tuna in the FR-S one... looks like a few of you just gold'n'go'd it :D

A few more tenths off of my Academy time would be really nice.  Top 250 in the US isn't totally out of the question, but will be hard to do I think.

I think my "improve over last year" condition has been met, because day by day I'm not slipping very much down the ladder...

so if I get no more time to improve, at least I can say I improved over last year, which was my goal.

I have not really pushed prior and I do not wish to stress over it now. I am only doing as much or as little as I feel is fun. I make sure I boot it up, but I do not push from there. Tonight I did not feel like running at all, even though this morning I was gung ho. I got home turned it on, sat down and took a breath. I figured no time to be found, might as well focus on learning the track. So I did laps, not a lot compared to some, but 13 is a lot for me. And here that's like my half hour right there.

Funny thing, back when I knew no tracks and we had prologue, sometimes to add laps to the set race, we would race backwards for a few laps. Surprisingly sometimes those reverse laps helped me learn the track or some turn a bit better. It was a laugh and a win, win.  ^-^ And yes I did do some laps in reverse.

Nope, they don't count going backwards here.  :)

if the superman movie is any indication, you should be able to reverse time by going backwards, and thus end up with an infinitely short time, taking over the world leaderboard!

my camping trip didn't materialize as expected (real life friends don't turn out to be as reliable as GT friends) so I've suddenly found myself with the whole weekend to try and improve again.

lucky?  Unlucky?  A little of both.

But as I told my wife... "GT Academy is a once a year thing".  She's pretty cool about it, actually.

^ Go for it man, it's always fun and rewarding to shave time and see how you stack up.

I hopped on last night for a legitimate session to see if I could sniff Wizard's exhaust fumes. I finally found my rhythm about the time I needed to go to bed, but I found the speed to get a look at the carbon on Wizard's exhaust tip.  :-*

Truth is last night was the first time I've found the track enjoyable and my laps are finally consistent, so time can still be found. The bad news is I'm getting into that cone of speed that finding big chunks of time won't happen; it will be a lot of work to find a tenth or even hundredths.

Maybe my wife will be cool and let me cut some more laps before the weekend is over.

Wiz, great time by the way; that 18.6 is smoking fast!

Thanks again y'all. :)

It ends on Sunday.

Even though I'm very happy with where I'm at, it doesn't look like I'll meet my adjusted goals unless I can make one last small improvement.
My ultimate goal now is to finish top 100 USA and top 1000 Global.  Right now I'm at 108 & 1030.

I'll probably race Casual Friday tonight and give the Academy one more good effort tomorrow.

Another thing I figured out today that depressed me a bit was the fact that I was at 2:19.393 on day 2.  So I've only picked up roughly .750 over 22 days.  I was hoping I'd be able to improve a little more than that.

Overall though I'd say I'm doing a little better than last year so......
