Haven't played this in months.

Have you still been playing, Doc?  If so, thoughts?  Is it getting better?

I wouldn't say that I've been playing it.  Every now and then, I load it up and see if anything has changed.  Performance has improved and graphics have improved to the point where it is playable with triple screens.

I really want to like the game.  It has all the important features that I want in a sim but it is still lacking polish and graphical performance.  I get 40-50fps in rF2 and it still doesn't look as good as the 80-100fps that I get in AC.  AC now has dynamic track conditions even if they are canned.  But even without AI or multiplayer, AC is just more fun.

I updated for the first time in months.

I forgot how satisfying this game is/can be.  The FFB is incredible.  Graphics on some tracks seem better.  Physics are great.

I hear the latest build improved performance again, Doc.  You may want to update and check it out.

I tried it out again recently.  Now that I'm using a single screen, performance is much better.  Still doesn't look great but I haven't upgraded to the latest version.  I only originally paid for the one year subscription and my subscription has expired.  I know that it isn't much to renew but things are tight right now so I don't think that the wife would appreciate seeing it on the visa bill.  There are rumours that devkit 2 for the Rift is going to be announced soon and I absolutely need to buy that.

Perhaps I've misunderstood the payment structure, but I think the yearly subscription fee is to only access the online potion of the game.  You should still be able to update and play offline/single player.

You're right.  I just updated.  Thanks.  I knew you could still play offline but I thought they stopped you playing online and updating.  No need to rush to resubscribe then since no one is playing online anyway.

The thing that jumped out at me? AI strength and AI aggression. Man, I wish GT had that.

This is from rF1.  I thought it was a pretty unique perspective and I've never seen one like this before....

That looks like Mont Saint-Hilaire just outside of Montreal.  The Panoz roadster has been released as well.

I'm still waiting for another sim to release Mont Tremblant.  That was one of my favourite tracks in Ferrari Challenge.

That new UI from RaceDepartment is out.   Get it here - http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/resources/rfactor-2-minimalist-hd-ui.2019/

I dig it.

You'll hate it at first, but stick with it for a bit and you'll start to like it I think.  Just takes some time to get used to.

This one is quite long but I had to post it, as it was probably the best AI race I've ever had, in any game.

A few notes about some bugs you might see...

1.  The driver animations are pretty bad.  This is not official ISI content and I believe the animations are a work in progress.
2.  Any glass you see on the cars is going to look weird.  This is a bug (or wrong setting somewhere?) that has plagued me for a while.  I fixed it once, but now it's back and I can't remember how to fix it.
3.  The leaderboard looking thing in the top left doesn't work in replay mode.

Watch in HD for best viewing experience.
