Monday Night Grand Touring (Completed)
« on: January 08, 2012, 10:56:24 AM »

Ok, I want to try another recon series. I'm attempting a couple things to reduce or eliminate the lag issue we experienced at Race Wars as well as something Feldynn and I discussed after everyone left that night. It's a different style of series, again multiple races a night, heavy on car restrictions and moderate distance races. This time I hope to steal and bastardize a practice from the TPRA and run this in a Division system, twelve racers in two rooms of six to reduce the server load. After both divisions finish drivers will be awarded their official finishing positions based on running times. I also want to try the reduced number of races per night just to see how it goes over.

I'm not setting a date yet to gauge participation but I do want to see this run fairly quickly. Largely due to the fact I have another idea for the GT-S class cars I would like to try later on.

I am interested but it depends on the scheduling.  If it was the 16th and 23rd that would work.  If it's later that probably doesn't work for me (I'll be out of town on the 30th).

Do you know when you'd like to start yet?

That is two weeks notice, it's certainly plausible.  I want to get a solid field, if I can't half of the recon I want to gather goes with it. If we can fill the field by the thirteenth, sure we can run on the 16th and 23rd but getting a full field is a priority for me.

That's fine by me.  More preparation time is always good!  However as to my availability the 30th is a no go :-\

It was hard to pick between it and the TVR, but I'll have to go with the SILVIA Spec-R; #20

Of all the cars I looked through that was the one car I did not expect to be chosen too quickly, I almost left it out.

Well, I do have the GTS short Endurance race I was thinking about penciled up. Worst case scenario if the field is still too thin come the 16th, I can let this simmer a bit longer to fill out by posting and running that race in the mean time.

When will you be available again after the 30th? With less than half the field filled I don't think I'm going to be able to get this started tomorrow night :(.  So what I am going to do is post up a short Enduro for the mean time and push this back.

Ronin, I should be good after the 30th.  The 30th doesn't work for me because I'll be on a ski trip out in Vail ^-^  But beyond that I'll be free (on Mondays) until March 12th (when I will again be away skiing).

So if you set up a schedule I will plan accordingly  :)

What time of day you thinking of starting?  Later in the evening/night I have a shot at this, earlier is a no go.

Most likely around 6:30/7:00 eastern time.
