And then some pretty neat shots of the track in 3DSmax...

I finally got it installed on my new PC recently, but haven't had a chance to fire it up yet.  There's been some good mods that have been released lately that I'd like to try.

What's crazy to me is that this is probably the most complete sim out right now(good physics & FFB, day/night, weather, driver swaps, full pits & full flag system, etc.), and nobody is playing it, myself included.

That is a shame. I think I will look into it this evening. I all but forgot about it while my rig was down. If I understand it correctly I cant play online any longer due to the content package I purchased. I really want to download the Indy pack Doc had posted about.

I only bought the one year subscription too.  I thought that we couldn't download stuff after it expired but thankfully I was wrong (thanks Wiz).  I actually started this up the other day but I got some error and didn't bother trying to figure it out.

rF2 does so many things right but messes up just enough to be really annoying.  It has legacy rF1 triple screen support so some of the UI gets hidden behind a bezel.  Performance has been an issue especially for triple screens but graphics aren't really that great.  UI in general sucks bad.  I just don't get many of the choices they make.  The last time I gave it a spin with a single monitor it was actually pretty good.

I just found what appears to be a copy of rFactor (the first one?) in my box of spare Obutto/G25 parts.

I'm planning on getting a new laptop in the next few weeks... is the game worth it to install?

Absolutely.

There's more mod content for rFactor than probably all others combined.  Name a track and it probably exists.  Tons of cars too.

Graphics will obviously be a little dated.  Physics and FFB are good.

It's worth an install just to play with the DRM Revival mod...
