BTW, what happened with the DayTuna 500?!  Usually we run it before the actual IRL race...

If we still plan on running DayTuna, I think I will go with Dale E. as my partner, instead of my usual choice of Danika.  I just have this very strong feeling this is Dale's year for the Daytona 500.  :lmao2

I'd say no worries there. This one is my personal favorite and I am ready willing and able to act as a substitute host for this one. Not to mention in all my testing I so far I have not encountered the infamous pit stop glitch.

Would any one like to do a double?

With Indy car now hosting an Indy road course event before the 500 we could do the same. Using the same rules and wrinkles as the 500 for the car settings and picking a driver, the race could be run the weekend before the real race or the weekend of the real race and still leave a couple of weeks gap before the 500.

If so I can test and put a proper event post up this weekend.



Edit: Also for those curious, I'm still testing but so far FGT + Medium race tires = no tire glitch.

Also Indy 500 is May 25, GP of Indy is May 10.

The Undy equivalent of the GP of Indy will probably be around 73 laps maybe less. F1 ran 73 the track is now longer the Indy cars are slower. I have not yet seen a lap count for the race.

Good luck to every one.  And I think the regulations are fairly close to the real world numbers.  Although the fastest real cars averaged 231mph.  That was in an extreme qualifying setup.  My guess is the real race speeds will be at or below 220mph.

Also with real draft it takes a few turns to set up a pass.  It was fun the time or two I did practice sessions.

You should have a ton of fun if you can get a good number of racers.

Yeah, that's all I got.  I could go into a hometown story where radio controlled gophers were used, but that would probably lean more toward sad then funny.

Here's the details...

Q starts at 5pm EDT till 6pm EDT.  Room will be set for a 60 minute time trial.  The field will be set manually for the race based on the TT results.  (don't worry if you can't make Q, you can still race with a provisional)

Final practice begins at 6pm EDT till 7pm EDT.  This should allow time to revert to a race setup after Q'ing.

Race will start at 7:30pm EDT.  This gives everyone a half hour break before race start.  *NO PRACTICE DURING THE 30 MIN BREAK*.
