TuTu July 10 2012 - TuTu Budget Series Is Back!
« on: July 09, 2012, 12:01:10 PM »

TuTu is bringing back the budget series!

Budget = 13,000 Cr. That's right, it's Budget Beaters! There is a (somewhat) small selection, but they are certainly there. You can go buy something off the lot or you can use a car you already have - in which case, refer to mygranturismo.net and use what it says there as the price. Some of the cars can be had in the UCD for far less than what it says on that site. Good luck!

Rules:
-You have a budget of 13,000 to spend on the car and mods. Not 13,001. 13,000. No overages!
-Used or new cars.
-Any mod is allowed, including wings and lightening.
-No race cars! Street cars only.
-Engine and Chassis Rebuilds do NOT count against your 13,000 limit, nor do paint and wheels! Rebuild and customize away!
-An oil change does count against your limit.
-Honor system is in effect - however, we are not past making you show your receipts!

Restrictions:
Power - Unlimited (you may NOT use the power limiter)
Weight - Unlimited (you may NOT adjust ballast)
Tires - Unlimited (although buying tires will put you over your limit)
Tuning - Open (although most of the tuning parts are out of your budget limit  ;) )

You can sort of list the cars by Price at www.MyGranTurismo.net but the list is somewhat out of order for the last few pages, like the page ranges from 10k-28k but they're not all correctly ordered.  Also you'll want to filter by Standard cars only, cheapest premium is about 14k (not counting the go-kart).

thanks Feldynn for the link got 3 cars fitted for under 13k used the link for 2 and bought a 91' beat at the used dealer for 7,167 with 60,083 miles (13,800 according to link must have no miles on it) so ill not run if anyone contests it but it is the lowest PP of the 3. ;) But true to life and the list(like it or not) Honda brings the best bang for your buck when beater shopping...

lol that is what stepper meant by showing receipts, It's cool.

Gift cars don't count and are valued at the estimated retail listed at mygt.net though, at least that was how it used to be.

Shop around...

I found a Beat for $7595 (296pp) and a March G# for $9749 (310pp) - both well under what MyGranTurismo says...

I also found a Mirage 1400GLX for $8405 (326pp) and a Vitz F for $8217 (303pp) - both also under the costs listed at MGT...

There are some really nice high mileage / low cost standard cars out there if you don't mind playing a few rounds of "Shuffle the UCD", checked what I had up in my backup account and found 3 really nice cars for from 9-12k or so (up to 6k less than their new 0 miles price on MyGT).  I really wish some premium cars would show up in the "Used Car" lot too, it should be limited to just Standards.

Should be interesting to see what people show up in :).

Additional recon info...

Without a customizable tranny (which is half more than the budget itself) all upgrades mean DIDDLY SQUAT!  Even the lower trannys aren't worth the expense, they are close ratio but that doesn't change the top-end; which is what bites you in the ass.

Look for a very high mileage, yet in-budget car that does about 120mph out-the-box and forego the upgrades...  (the engine rebuild will build back up your hp/pp)

Be wary of older FF cars, while they may appear ridiculously cheap they often don't have an LSD and that REALLY bites them in the ass.  Conversely don't be afraid of newer FF cars, some of them are actually pretty good and under budget too!
