Wile testing the GT-3 cars last night all the cars seemed comparable in sprint format but a couple showed some signs that long haul racing may be problematic. I would like to start planning an endurance test for this class. I'm thinking a hundred miles at Indy road course but I am open to suggestions as to how long and where.
Thoughts?

I'm always down for testing. i have been a bit busy this week due to a show coming up tomorrow, but i can hop on sometime together and test some more if need be

Given the right time and place I would be interested. However I can't help out with any testing right now.

Any chance Corvettes are GT-3 cars?

I'm not talking about sitting down and just testing, I'm looking at putting together a race like I did with GT-1 with the 150 at Spa and Laguna Seca 200 and GT-2 with the Monday night grand touring to find out how these cars play with each other over the long haul. Some of these cars might not have the endurance and I want to know for sure, no better way to find out than to throw them into the fire of a race. So I am thinking I'll use the May endurance for this.

No there are not.

Ah, i got ya Ronin. In that case i'll take the CR-Z TC #20. Figured we should have a hybrid in there to see if they are a viable option for the longer races. Any ideas on a track?

sweet jesus i'm retarded today....i think indy road sounds good. Thanks for putting up with my dumb ass today Ronin.
-
I think that equals 38 laps of Indy Road...sounds great to me. Timing would be the only issue for me.
I would like to see how the Elise RM matches against the S2000's.
-
For me personally, I'm interested in a race but I prefer the shorter side of endurance racing so I'd be looking for around 60-90 minutes of race time. If 38 or so laps of Indy Road is comes in somewhere around that length then I'm game so long as the start time is good.
I'd probably be looking to run either the Lexus IS 200 GT-1 or the New Beetle Cup Car as my preferred choice but I have all the cars and I'd be happy to run any of them :).
-
I'd expect 38 laps to be within that time frame. Over an hour, but not by much.
-
I just ran a quick test with my BMW on the setup from Daytona the other night. A properly setup car should be capable of 1:38's or better. My Daytona tune was running 1.40's and I was on pace for a 1:39 when I crashed on lap 5. Indy road course is 2.61 miles which comes out to 38.3{insert agreagous decimal here} so 38 laps it is. It would take approximately 60.8 minuets to run 38 laps averaging 1:40...I think. So yeah, if my math is correct it should take a little over an hour.

Spoon S2000 race car for me plz! :)

This race is still a little ways away, but I am glad to see interest. I'll prolly post up the official race information in a week or so.
