Title: The Webber Grills Backyard 400
Post by: BakedTuna on July 17, 2011, 03:52:15 PM
That right friends it's that time of year again for the first annual Backyard 400 at Indy. Tentative plans are set for July 24 8pm eastern. With qualifying taking place from 8-8:15 with the race to begin at 8:15. Again this is mirroring the real life Brickyard 400 taking place the following week. This will be a team challenge so pick your real life counterpart wisely. When you post in this thread that you intend to run the event please announce your teammate. As in the past a real life driver can be picked multiple times. Car details to be posted by early this week.

When: July 24 8pm Eastern
Where: Indy Speedway
Laps: 160
Cars: the standard issue NASCAR cars

Ronin              Tony Stewart
Baked             Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Event cancelled partly due to low interest levels but as much as that would be that I am going to have in over 60 hours of work this week. With most of those being outside and our heat indexes have been over 100 degrees this week and I just don't have enough energy to put it together. Hell I don't know that I would have the energy to run it even if there was nothing to do to prepare for it. Sorry guys life gets in the way this time.

I'm a little happy.  Happy I might be able to race in the make up race. ;)

Just say it was being hosted and raced in the Pacific NW and naturally it got rained out. (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

We up here may be the only people comfortable with our weather than anyone else in the nation.  I hope that heat breaks for you guys soon.

I would definitely be interested in an endurance race of some type, but NASCAR (and an oval) is just not my thing.
