Will there be a short "pre-race" to check server race conditions. Would be a good practice anyway.

That's a good point.  We will do that; would have to have a Miata Cup repeat :(

TunaWiz, you are welcome to join if the field is not full (It supposedly is but there are always a few who cannot make it).

Whaaaaa?  Surely your S2000 was set to 480PP for the first race!  I mean you came in 2nd and smoked most of the field

What's going on over there... :lolz

thankfully feldynn stopped by a room I was practicing in last night and reminded me we're not supposed to have the full trans on it.  I must have added one since last time and forgot about it.

I was running 1:28.9 as a best with a tuned trans, now without it it's more like 1:30.  I'll see if I can bring it down before then.

The main thing for people not too comfortable with this track (MADRID) is to remember to brake when you know you need to, and as tires wear, to brake even earlier.  Coming to a dead-stop against a wall is going to hurt your chances more than braking a little too much.

I was able to get around 13 laps without suffering too much on tires.  But that was with some skids and wall smacks ;)

This race MIGHT be possible to complete with just one pit stop, but most will need two I think.  That is assuming Race Mediums cannot be swapped for Hards.. .correct?

^&^^I noticed you fellas practicing online last night after my 10pm race  :P

Before PD updated GT5 and changed tire wear characteristics, it was a no brainer to use the stickiest tire allowed.  Now that that has changed it is my feeling that you can use whatever tire compound you want up to the stickiest compound allowed.  So for this race feel free to use race hard if you like.

Since that line of thinking might put you slightly behind the 8 ball (given that the race is tonight) I will offer up some tire data that I came up with a few weeks ago.  For my car, the Supra, I was able to go 17 laps on one set of Race Medium Tires.  For Race Hard tires I managed 25 laps.  Of course with all the tight turns the RH tires were about 2-3 seconds per lap slower for me.

Sadly the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo isn't nearly as tire friendly, we ran an 8 lap race last night and I was down to 50% tires on the front and down a good 2-3 seconds a lap by the end.  I might be able to tinker with my setup and squeeze a little more out of them but that's the price I pay for driving a hippo :), on the bright side though considering it is such a lumbering beast I thought it handled surprisingly well around Madrid.

This is a bit of a tight circuit, however further down the schedule we have quite a few tracks coming up with plenty of wide open spaces

FML, that's less than a second off my best period  :-X

Good thing the Supra has a big ass, with which to block others! :D

Hmmm, maybe it's a good thing I'm in the GTO then.. if I can get a decent jump off the line it might not be easy for people to get by with my big blue hippo lurching all over the track ;D.
