Here is one more sorta retro race. I always like the Like the Wind races from GT3 and 4. Basically is was an open race at the Test Track in which the AI would use Le Mans prototypes. We don't have Test Track but we do have Route X. I had doubts as to the level of fun there would be racing on Route X, but after last weeks Group C, I'm convinced there is some potential for good high speed racing in this track. So here it goes.
Wednesday January 16 at 9pm eastern (room will open at 8pm)
HostTuna lounge (or if there is a conflict dlrws6 lounge)
Route X
2 laps
Run what you brung (No X2010 or X2011)
all tuning permitted (Expect speeds around 300mph)
Suggested cars.
Any Group C car
Any LMP car
maybe FGT

Assuming I'm free that night count me in. And off the top of my head there's only one thing that would prevent me from coming.
But what's up with just 2 lap races? Gonna be multiple "heats"?

I should be able to make it as I have a freebie from the family for last week.
Anyone know if an FGT is quicker than an LMP?

I don't know for sure. Its got a weight advantage but is slightly lacking in horse power. I think if you stay in the draft with it you'll have a chance. I'm also curious if any one will try a super car like the Bugatti.
Yes two laps maybe 3 if 2 feels too short. With as many races as we can fit it before it gets too late. ;D

I will probably be in a 605pp TVR Speed 12... It snacks on Veyrons, but the Viper ACR and the Toyota GT-1 can both out top-end it. (still 240mph in a 605pp car is kinda sweet)

I spent my lunch hour oil changing 6 cars. And yes the Gt One was one of them. :)

Yep 296mph in clean air with the GT-One. So far its the fastest one I've found. Oooo... I almost forgot the Escudo. Gotta go test it. :) Also I think PD adjusted some of the cars with the 2.10 update. I swear my 88CV has lost 200hp over night.

I have that Excudo and have never driven it. The RC92 has over 900hp with only an oil change.

Yeah, I've got the R92 ready to go. But unless I'm on drugs the 88cv with 0 miles, oil change and lvl 3 turbo had 1200hp two days ago. Today the same car sits in my garage with about 1009hp, or was it 1090hp. :( Never mind, I think I am on drugs. (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)
I also tried Nascars but their too heavy and not enough gear.

So any update on the escudo? I've got all of above mentioned, but was surprised at the veyron upset!

I've been trying to get into Hosttuna and Dlr's lounge for 20 minutes and no go.

I tried to get in for about an hour and no go. I even tried to open my lounge and couldn't. It's just been my luck lately with last week as well. I don't ever remember having any trouble joining a lounge before.
Anyone else have trouble joining the room last night?

Sorry I didn't make this event last night. Some personal issues really hit the fan earlier this week so I've been a bit of a mess :'(
Anyway if this is held again I would definitely try to attend :D

Since the new update, I've been having problems. Actually, while installing the update something got hung up and I don't think I ever fully got the update installed. Since then, I've had trouble with the PS3 seemingly getting hung up, getting discoed from rooms, or just not being able to get into rooms. The other night I could get into the room, but I couldn't enter a race, watch, or change any settings. I could hear all the chatter, but the only icon that worked was the red exit button.

Why :fuck with the PP model (which was working quite well once we isolated the limitations) when there are many actual problems with online connectivity that not only get ignored - but often times exacerbated?
