Charlie posted about using sports soft tires and pitting for the B-Spec 3 lapper at The Green Hell.

Also, as an alternate scenario, try starting with Racing Hard, and overriding the pit stop for lap one.  Pump the driver up for lap one, then back him off for laps 2 and 3.  I used the Mobil 1 NSX and handily defeated the idiots before the first big right hand sweeper at the sand trap on lap 2.  From there it was cool cruising and with the 200% bonus = 2,000,000 credits!  Unfortunately, only once. :'(

Note that you are "rewarded" for using a lesser car.

Anyone know if you get more than double for using a car with 350pp or less?

I messed around with the latest seasonals a bit last night. I found as long as there is no Integra or Civic Type R in the race, you can really run the PP down a good bit, and still be able to win with little trouble. I ran the last one about 6-7 times, and got my Integra down to 362pp, and was still winning pretty easily. It has stage 3 engine and weight reduction, so that was as far down as I could get it to go. At 362pp, I was winning 1.2 million credits, and 120,000+ XP. That last track is pretty dang fun, 10 more races like that, and I'll be level 38.

I got a little over 600k using that golf thing with 390pp @ Tsukuba. I had the civic in my races and need ed to turn 1'08's and 1'09's to catch it on the last lap.

Really fun, I dig these seasonals.

:stoopid:  The only thing I found was the lower the PP the slower the car. At Cape Ring started with 400PP got the Integra, went down further and got the Focus. Then went to 360PP and got a Turbo Coupe something and beat it by 18+ seconds! Still like the seasonals though, hope they stay with this instead of more b-spec races!!!!

I like that they're encouraging us to use different cars at different performance levels, that part's cool and I think even something that some of us have mentioned before.

But, yes you all knew there was a but coming, I still really dislike the whole "chase the rabbit" set up where the cars start so massively spread out and run their largely preprogrammed laps (set speed, set line, etc with little variation) so instead of racing you're mostly just passing traffic as fast as you can.

Still it is fun and a positive improvement in the game!

This is typical PD attention to detail.  First they add a feature that changes the cars in the race based on what you bring to the race so you can choose a variety of cars and still be competitive.  Then they add a feature that gives you more money using an underpowered car but forget that they set it up to give you a weaker field with a weaker car.

This is what I hate about single player in GT.  It really isn't a racing game especially since the cars just give up midway through a pass.  I found the special events and license tests much more fun than A spec.

Ran another Cape Ring with my Scirocco at 360pp and had to race the Integra and Civic. Just did beat the Integra by .941 sec. Guess I was wrong about the lower pp racing slower cars!

It has always seemed random to me. I could enter a race get one set of cars, exit and reenter and get a different set. I had to do that for some of the b-spec races on occasion.

That's it Dude. On these, the races without the Integra or Civic Type R, are the easy wins where you could probably go really low on PP. As long as you don't exit, you'll keep the same group of cars.
