I'm not the guy in the 58s

Edit: well NOW I am  thanks for the nudge Baked. Threw on a big turbo and after a few laps to get used to the massive handling change I see a 57 in my future

Had about an hour or so tonight got to try out the Bathhurst seasonal tried the Z4 and then the R8 then went back to the Z4 and started to whittle down my time through driving and tweaking gears a touch. In 35 to 40 minutes of seat time managed to get a 1:59.0xx. Think there is still about .5 of a second or so left in me if I get back out there to try some more. We will have to see if I can find some time over the next week or so to give it another try.
Took about a half an hour before bed and found a 1:58.564 now I am starting to think I might be able to get to a low 58 if stay focused in on this seasonal a bit. Figured I had to improve as nosoks is posting some fast times for these TT's and I want to hang in there with him. He is killing me through the downhill portion of the track still.

Nice!  Sounds like you are getting back into the swing of things

Have fun. It was in 20's here today not a good time for the beach. But wanted to let you know this has been a great game of leapfrog, bringing some fun back to seasonals for me.

Bathurst for me has some visual issues in the game and in the past has locked my PS3 up. I seem to have corrected the freeze and I will try to get past the blinking shadows.

So I will throw my hat in the ring for this. I will play with some tunes and get some laps in and hopefully I can at least get to a sub 2 minute lap. :)

Cheers!

Down to a 2'02.x last night. I only managed a couple of clean laps the rest I was a pinball. I'll try and do a few laps each night.

that is a respectable time there Dude, getting anywhere five seconds under a gold medal goal time in these types of time trial seasonals is a respectable time is the way I view it

I watched the TV coverage of the Bathurst race and I noticed a few things that I would love to see from an on-board camera's POV. All the stuff I saw was from outside of the cars.

Does anyone have a recent video of a real car's lap, with Bathurst's new tarmac?

There's some onboard in this.

If you didn't catch any of this race, take 12 minutes out of your day and watch this...

Thanks, Dude, but I've already seen that one and there just isn't enough to see a whole lap.

What a finish, though, eh?
