Non-Racecar Super Lap
    Toscana
Normal cars, 500PP Max, Dirt Tires
    Gold: 90,000cr; Silver: 54,000cr, Bronze: 27,000cr
    Gift: Matte Dark Red

2-Wheel-Drive Racecar Super Lap
    Suzuka Circuit 2014
Racing cars, 600PP Max, Racing/Hard compounds or less
    Gold: 190,000cr; Silver: 114,000cr, Bronze: 57,000cr
    Gift: GT OLD GENERATION 004-W

Tried Toscana with some Impreza WRX I owned.  I had difficulties keeping the beast on track, so I looked at the fastest lap replay.  The guy used a rear wing, should have thought about it.  Bought the same car (a WRX '08 that comes with a rear wing).  I added a front spoiler, rally suspension, didn't touch the default 45/55 differential ratio, TCS OFF.  Got gold within 5 laps, but still 4-5 seconds behind Baked.

On-screen help says that near 50/50 front/rear differential ratio the car will understeer.  Is it true on dirt roads too ?  I feel at 50/50 the front wheels pull the car into the turn, like a FF car would do.

It was bed time, but I wanted to give Suzuka a try.  Lowered the 2J to 600 PP, got gold on the first green lap.  I feel like cheating, everything is way too easy with the 2J.  The PP value does not fit the car's performance, it was the same on GT5.  Thought they would have fixed it in GT6, but they didn't.

If I get some spare time later this week I'll give Suzuka a try with a more "standard" car.

Well done yvesf,
I love the dirt.  You mentioned something that I completely forgot about.  I never put on a rallye suspension on the car I tried.  I wonder if that would help my times.  Thanks.

I like 50/50 weight dist. but I also think it depends a lot on the car.  I used the little Puegot 205 turbo (it weighs next to nothing) and put a little more weight up front to help bite into the turns better.  Plus, I like the ass end to swing out a little on the dirt.

Don't beat yourself up on using the 2J.  Lots of people are using it.  If you can afford it, buy the Toyota TS030 Hybrid.  I didn't own it until this event.  I bought it and within 4 laps I had  gold and a pretty good TT time too.

Awesome job, I often find some are harder to bank then others.

I want to extend a hand to all those seeking a better time. I do not tune, I drive. (Rather poorly, or mostly tuna, sometimes brilliant) Whatever I drive maximum always and if it is not a stock race, I need a tune.

I really like the tunes that SW_10 shares. Here is a Toyota tune link you do not have to feel dirty about driving.  http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/600pp-2wd-racing-car-super-lap-suzuka-circuit-2014.324184/#post-10472280

Also, 1.48.3xx :)

Its nothing to really talk about but I dusted off my controller and gave Suzuka a shot.  I forgot how much trouble I have driving on racing tires in GT6.  Either way it was fun, I think I like Suzuka now it has a rhythm to it that is almost relaxing. I very quickly got a 1:58 with the Z06 RM which is probably not great but considering I have not run a hot lap in months, I figure it was an ok start.

I'll have to see what prototypes I have and see if I'm still even remotely competitive.

After two stints on Saturday I finally managed to just better your time. 1'47.77x. It is definitely getting harder and harder to find time on track now. I only left a tenth or two at the hair pin with a small mistake and a small amount at Spoon with some throttle oversteer corrections. I am not as good as you at the final chicane either.

I still believe a 46 is achievable for us both, though I am not sure we can spend the amount of time on track that it would take.

Regarding Quick Match Events: Some say you can't hook up with friends in these and I say they are wrong. I believe it can be done as it was in GT5p. Just pick the specific QM race, chose a start time and everyone hits the start button at the same time.  :)
