They stated welcomes back. Did they lose it once? I don't recall driving one?

I think they meant it as in "Welcomes back (to simracing)", since Porsche has been mostly stuck in arcade racing games for the past 12 years.

I ran a few laps in AC and iRacing over the weekend in the Rift.  As you can see from my last setup picture, I do not have a monitor close to my wheel.  I bought a program that displays your desktop in the rift.  I ran into a few problems with iRacing and AC crashing but I think that may have been due to the desktop program.  It also had a few other issues with the program so it does not really work well as the main monitor.  Otherwise, AC worked great.  I think that I was using the settings that I had set when I was using my old video card.  I have a little more aliasing than I like but the framerate is pegged to 90Hz.  I don't think that could go back to driving without the rift.  I ran the graphics autoconfigurator on iracing and I think that it chose settings that were too high.  My framerate was around 70-80 which means that Oculus's ATW was kicking in to fill in the missing frames and something did not quite feel right with that.

Hi there guys  ;D

I seem to do a lot of solo driving these days and find myself needing something to go along with it, so modding it is.  Let's me use some of the geek in me anyway.  As of late, I have been working on a weather mod mostly for myself, but wanted to share it as well.  Also made a few tweaks to the UI (i'm picky) to tidy things up a bit.

I made batch files to make my and your lives easy as shit!  Run the batch and away you go.

Weather Pack - download
-All files in this pack will NOT overwrite original data, it will be in addition option along WITH all the originals.
-There are new additional clouds that are added as well.
-There is a "stars" folder in this pack that contains it's own cloud file and install/uninstall batch.  This will make it very easy to add and remove stars/clouds per session.  Do NOT separate the contents inside the "stars" folder, but you may move the "stars" folder anywhere you wish to store it for use.

UI Pack - download
-This pack contains both un/install batch files.  All original files are moved to a "respective" _bkup folder upon install and new folders created with modded ui.  Upon uninstall, all modded ui will be deleted and the _bkup folders renamed to original.

Here's some pics...  (sorry for the pic size)

I forgot the UI pics and info.  Only changes are to a slightly darker red, shrunk the main menu buttons, changed the font size and speed up the response time of the button/text dissolve.  Made the cars and tracks list/grid smaller to fit without needing to scroll down.  Also shrunk, rounded and beveled the buttons of the race menu (sitting in pits).

Thanks Brindle,  I'll give these a go when I get a chance though who knows when that will be.  I have to try Dirt Rally tonight.

Well, I'm at it again with a new damage display.  There's a vertical and horizontal orientation, both with install and remove batch's.  Depending on your screen height, 900/1080/1200 etc. a change in the damage_displayer.ini "Y" is needed. (comes set for 900)

Fanatec owners may be shit out of luck on PS4 - http://www.console.assettocorsa.net/supported-wheels.php

There's still a chance they may work, but with limited functionality.  Recommend waiting a few days after release before buying the game.
