Title: DLC Cars - wish list
Post by: CharlieTuna on February 22, 2012, 03:10:14 PM

2011 Cadillac XLR

The XLR went out of production after 2009 (and was kind of a Luxo-Turd) plus, wouldn't we want the XLR-V anyway? it has over 100 more hp. But how about some CTS-V?

I wouldn't put the Mini Coupe/Roadster or the new-new Beetle past them in the very near future. Two updates ago we got 2 new VWs and a new Mini. I can't believe we haven't been given a Subaru BRZ to go with the Toyota 86.

Wasn't sure of the year on the XLR but I like its looks more than the CIEN...  (do they pronounce that "sin"?)

And I definitely wouldn't mind a CTS or two...  I'd even go for an Escalade with dubs on?  ;)

Although I want everything for free...wait, I already paid for the incomplete game, onward...I don't know that I want more cars, just more available from dealerships and more RM cars (or even TC). Certainly, if they're going to charge us for new premium cars in the game, they could make RM available for any new cars. Who wouldn't want a RM version of the BR-Z? (rhetorical question) I'm guessing 'everyone' wants RM for that newer Aston Martin.

Alright, alright, there are cars we would all enjoy added through DLC. I would still prefer PD add some more real tracks.

Like Richard Hammons, I have an affinity for Morgans.  This one is spectacular.  The view from the top shows that the Morgan lines are still there.  What a beauty!

Also, I've wanted that Caddy CTS-V in this game since day 1.  SEXY!

I must agree. Even if it was old ones from previous GTs.

Ya know....Any regular production cars, PD should just fucking give to us and add them to the dealerships like they did with the '11 Nascars. I don't mind buying specialty cars that require additional licensing like racecars with sponsorship decals, movie cars, television cars and whatnot. Making us pay for simple road worthy production cars like those friggin VW's and the Toyotas, that's bullshit.

As for tracks, I can live with buying them and like chrome would like to see them even if it's ones from previous games. I'll go as far as saying I want some of the ones from previous GT's. Apricot Hill (Or as I affectionately call it Pisspot hill), Special Stage 11 (both variations of it), Seatle, Watkins Glen...Oh the list goes on.

There are many cars and tracks I'd love to see included in future DLC, possibly too many to mention, though a fair number have already featured in previous GT games.  The majority being from GT2 with a few tracks / cars from GT4 also, here's an example of some..

Aston Martin DB6
BMW 3 Series
BMW 7 Series
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary '96
Ford Mondeo Ghia X 2.5i 24V
FPV GT
Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
Nissan Pulsar GTi-R '91
Vauxhall Astra SRi 2.0i 16V
Vauxhall Vectra GSi 2.5 V6
Plymouth GTX
Plymouth Musclecar (I believe it was GT2's generic Roadrunner, probably due to licensing)
Renault Laguna V6
Renault Espace F1 [R]
Shelby GT500 '68
Subaru SVX S4 '95 (AKA "Alycone" I think)
Vector M12
Vector Wiegert Vector W8 Twin Turbo
Venturi Atlantique 300
Venturi Atlantique 400GT

Track wise (including all variations of..):
Seattle
Pikes Peak
Midfield Raceway
Apricot Hill
Red Rock Valley
Tahiti
Grindelwald
Fuji 80's
Infineon Raceway
Twin Ring Montegi
El Capitan
Paris

.. and many more I'm sure :).

If I were to think up some actual DLC packs I might suggest something like a vintage themed back, especially after seeing that video in the U-Toob section of the 1967 Nurburgring.  Something like a 60s Nurplepurple Ring and another similar era track with some period race cars and road cars.

Another one that springs to mind from my love of the 70s is perhaps a 70s American themed pack, it could include the Seattle tracks and one set in another city (perhaps a San Francisco or New York).  Car wise I'd love to see some big 70s coupes and sedans like the Cadillac Eldorado, Chevrolet Caprice, Buick Riviera, Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale.. the kind of cars you'd see in episodes of The Rockford Files, STreets of San Francisco and such :).

Stopping now before I start to pick up too much of a head of steam!

I wanna get my hands on a New Nissan Leaf!

Yep, that's right, a Nissan Leaf.

Why, do you ask?

So I can drive over it with a Hummer H3, that's why.

What a turd that car (if you can call it that) turned out to be.

Thanks, PD!  Keep giving us crap to drive.  ::)

That is all. :D

I'd like a set of Hummers (H1, H2, H3).  Then we could do "ZombieLand".

I'd like an old 49-50 something Mercury too...  And if I need a 40mpg econo-dog; I'll take one with a little style (Nash Metropolitan)...

the old "GT5 Car Wishlist" for pre-gt5 release is being revamped and new life breathed into it.

mastrgt and OzDaddy are organizing a new cleaned up list over at the PSN  (http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/4701410?tstart=0) and asking for submissions.

there's a format for the submissions... but i'm sure you can see what it is and if you post something there it at least has a chance of getting some attention.

Mastrgt seems to ahve a plan for getting PD to pay attention to it.  That's a start!

ALSO: PD I remain available to digitally scan tracks via some sort of scanner device mounted on a truck. Pay for my expenses and some sort of wage and I'll drive every square inch of every race track in the world at 3mph. CALL ASAP, as I have nothing going for me at the moment.

agree tracks are a higher priority by an order of magnitude.

even though the course creator is very limited.  people should start shaing the really good ones because they may be the best way to get more miles of road to keep us going.

I'm making some for my kart series that are meticulously designed and redesigned until they are exactlyu what I'm looking for.

I know a few people who have made some really great tracks too.

A lot of you know Revengel.  He started a thread at PSN forum where he would do a write-up of a track, give it a backstory, etc.  He created a PSN account named "Trackshare" that I'm sure could be utilized much more than it is.

Each week, a new track was featured on the trackshare account, because we can each only share one at a time.  He had some good creations, and would also share some created by others.

The tunas could start something like that up or we could try to revitalize that thread.  Either way, I feel if enough care is taken, the course creator tracks can be really good.

Very true. Although I just can't get into the created tracks in GT5. There is something about them that I find myself continuously lost.

Ex, I can appreciate your thinking on the created tracks, but I can tell you, we put in a bunch of time on them a while back. From running a whole points series on them, to events dedicated to them. The novelty wore off, and the reality set in, that it's tough to get a good track out of it. Early on, I use to make tracks all the time, but an update changed something, and it's tougher to get it to do what it use to do. It's hard to explain.

I think that may be more do to with a lack of care taken when creating some tracks.  If you hit random and it generates one, you'd be lucky to get a good one about 25% of the time.  That is, good by the same standards we use to judge real tracks.

but if you study how the system works and keep at it, I think you'd be surprised at some of the tracks that have surfaced.

The trick is to avoid what you're worried about... the "getting lost" factor.  People add so many turns and crazy bankings (sometimes hard to avoid) and this is the outcome... a track that is new and interesting, but too unpredictable and hard to memorize.

CharlieTuna and james_mikel have tried to create fun tracks for y'all to try.  Charlie changes his share every 3 months (90 days) - usually with a brand new track that was developed while sharing it.  I try to design for FUN without having blind corners (whenever possible).  I also make them max width and bank the corners a bit to allow for close, side-by-side, fast racing.
:jumpinit

I am currently sharing one called "Warbird"-something because of it's general shape.  Try it, I think you'll like it.  :chillin

If not I have about a dozen more available that I've built - and tested...  I rarely save something that is not a decent ride.  ("The Coffin" was designed for a speacial evnet and therefore the blind corner with two jumps was a very necessary evil.  And it was something that allowed for naming of sections - I call that particular section "the Nail"...

BTW, most of y'all know but I also raid my Friend's List about every 2-3 months, so I already have most Tuna-created tracks...

And I think we have some real good ones.  (http://i.imgur.com/hcqc0vy.gif)
