Title: Twas just before Christmas...
Post by: CharlieTuna on December 17, 2013, 10:00:58 AM

Now Playing:  "A Tuna Christmas"
When: Monday, December 23st, 2013
Where: DSS; HSR ; then vote...
Showtimes: 8pm (Eastern) till the last Tuna leaves
The Car(s): 1991 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione   (aka Santa's Whip; aaka the Delahlah)
Horsepower Limit: n/a
Weight Limit:  1350kg
PP Limit:  447pp  (average of what poll showed)
Tires: Sport Softs
Lap Count: Approximately 8-10min races; with 5 minute race clock

Wrules and Wrinkles:

Our event participation guidelines are very simple. We ask that all drivers race hard, fast and clean. Participants should control their cars as if they owned them and avoid in-race contact with others. If your actions disturb the forward progress of another driver we ask that you pull over or slow down and allow the other driver to regain his position ahead of you. Have fun!

Twas just before Chrstmas and all 'round the pond
It was time for some racing, time for TUNA to bond,
And what more appropriate?  That TUNA Tradition,
"A Visit From St. Nick" - the fishy edition.
Seems it's just about time for the TUNA Yuletide trip,
When we pull out the Lancia - it's Santa Claus' "whip"
You don't need to paint it, but if that's your perspective;
You can make it all gaudy - or shiny, bright and festive.
I'm sure that you have one, if you've done that one race,
Cos it is the prize when you come in 1th Place.
Don't bother to "tune" it. Power/weight makes it a sleigh.
But any other modification is more than OK.
Brakes, clutch, and transmission you're allowed to adjust,
And aerodynamics?  Feel free if you must.
But no bolt-ons or mod should be done to the engine.
And don't mess with the weight, no not even a smidgen
Sport Soft tires will be best as our tires for the day,
But if you want lesser tires, I guess that's OK.
Then we just need some Tuna together to school.
Racing fast, hard, and clean using the 3-B-B rule.
We'll begin with two tracks that were picked by the host,
When we change it will be to the one with votes most
So just when do you think that this race will occur?
On Monday Night, the 23st day of December.
The lobby Friends ONLY and Charlie the host,
Starting at 5pm.  Time Zone?  The West Coast.
If you don't know the car yet, I'm sure others do…
Older Tuna know that "Santa's Whip" is the clue.
Who will be there?  I don't know yet. Has anyone seen Cip?
Is he still in G-T-A-V getting Nikki to strip?
Maybe Ronin?  I don't know, 'cos he rarely leaves HOME?
Nosoks, Lastleaf, and Chevy.  And there's Tanker and Chrome.
Come out No. Where's my Grill? And yes, Egg better scramble.
Come on let's get out there, time to mosey and ramble
There's Mondo and Lonestar.  Ex, M-X, and D-M.
And Ninja, he's stealthy.  Must look close to see him.
We need Dude, we need Rick, we need Feldynn and others.
Snake, Baked, Rek and Turbo…  We need all Tuna Brothers.
Badaboya, Josh and Fried.  And maybe TopEndTuna,
And I'm sure that in spirit will be Ucan and Croonah
If you think that your race suit makes your ass fat and frumpy.
I wanna see all the Tuna.  Even you, Mr. Grumpy…
Who's still missing? Where's Cache?  (otherwise known as Looney)
Cos it's time to get racey and sporty and tune-y
One guy who will miss this is Agent I bet.
Seems his copy of the game hasn't gotten here yet
But all Tuna are welcome, even Charlie from Austin…
And East Coast or West Coast?  I'm confused, where is Boston?
Daniel, Doc and Zilla.  And yes, 'Stepper too!
If one room ain't enough, then we'll open a few.
And Dawson and Wolfpak. No shit!??  There's the same?!
Who ever thought Tuna had more than one name.
And there's Ry, Jorge and Benz.  Holy shit I am spacing,
And Boots it's winter in Canada so you should be racing.
If I missed anyone else, please don't you feel slighted,
It was accidental I assure you, Charlie's not one that's spited.
From Canada and England or Far East and the States…
This time to catch Tuna, one don't even need baits.
Whether looking for fun or for just a race fix
You know where you can find us…  Online.  G-T-6.
MasterG-T, Macek, Metal.  And Phreak, Rev and Ooten
Gentlemen start your engines.  It's time for some scootin'
On tracks that we've run on for years and know well,
And even some new ones that are giving us hell.
But we'll master them one day, and then we can savor it,
And who knows, maybe one of them will be our new favorite.
Just race fast, hard and clean but be careful don't spin it,
Lot's of back and forth action.  Who can guess who will win it?
And when it's all over, when all's said and done,
You can bet that the Tuna had goos times and fun!
And I know this is true from the depths of my soul.
Because we're the TUNA, and that's just how we roll.

------------------
Watch this space.  Charlie will be posting an evnet for December 23th using "Santa's Whip"...

We all got one in the process of making it online.

Stock weight/pp/hp (though tuning will be allowed.  Hint hint...)

Sport Softs will be the tire limit.

We'll start up at DSS then migrate to HSR (reverse).  After that we will VOTE on track changes.  Charlie's 3BB rule will be in effect.

Don't be a humbug; join with us for fub and goos times.

Good timing.  I'm off from work on the 24th so I can stay up late.  I vote Trans Am or Rocket.  :laugh

Edit: Wait, what is "Santa's Whip"

maybe something he considers to drive like a "sled"?

I'd guess the X-Bow, maybe?

I got an idea of which car it is, but can't remember the name. Santa has been spotted in it in 5P, and GT5, if I'm not mistaken.  :)

We're gonna deck the halls with the Delahlah.  Fahlalalala lalalala...

Y'all need to brush up on Tuna lore and mythos. (Though I don't think you'd find it in there). It is here and at PSN in obscure drive-in threads.

3 Races and roll on to next track

When the game first came out, I thought the short Brands Hatch track may be the new choice of the Fish.  In more racing, I'm seeing Willow Springs being a favorite as well.

Personally I'm looking forward to DRC at night and Apricot Hill (day or night).

DRoC at night is tight.  Like it more than daylight...

I do like Brands Hatch but I really can't get into Willow Springs.  I don't like how it flows and I can't figure out some of the corners.  I'm also really starting to dislike HSR

I'll hang with you G211, because I so far, hate willow springs too.  It's beautiful, but the corners are very hard to read, a lot like the really bad course creator ones from "5" (not referring to the really good ones that did occasionally get made)

Of course Charlie meant HSR...

It's the Tuna HOME Track until the Bored says otherwise...

Personally I like the new tracks. And, though I've heard some complain, I personally see nothing the matter with the 'Horn.  The elevation changes are sweet...

With a little imagination, Willow Springs' track outline, looks fish like.

I agree, the track is a little tough to read, but I like it. There's a short variation that is just brutal though.

LOL guys.  Tilt left and its a female moose, tilt right and its a boot.  I still vote for dick gun though  (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

I like Willow Springs a lot.  It frustrates the hell out of me, but I like it.  2 corners give me fits almost every lap I turn.

DRC at night is my fav.  Simply beautiful.  Apricot Hill is a very close second.  That track has a great flow.  Ascari long version is my nightmare.  I cant find any rhythm at the place. (rhythm is a really weird word to spell)

I agree Charlie, I don't mind so you don't Matterhorn is fun as hell!!!

Like the new courses Ascari can be car dependent and Willow just never has felt quite right to me. Bathhurst and all the Matterhorns have all been comfortable since lap one on them.

I don't know that I would call Matterhorns comfortable.  If I was driving it in real life, my passenger would be screaming like a girl.  Not me though I'm tough. I wouldn't scream.  I didn't while driving it in GT6.  Really I didn't.  I'm a tough guy.

Maybe comfortable was a poor choice but not sure how to explain some places just feel "right". I am sure we all have our own places like this.

correction... I wasn't even aware of that  twistier one... what was it called  the "Streets" of willow?

THAT one was awesome.  Good flow and easier to read than the big one, which I still don't care for too much, even though the racing with you guys was fun last night!

408pp is fub, but y'all may want a little moar juice.

The car goes up to 480 with all bolt-ons.  Weight will be locked at 1350kg regardless of PP...

Vote in poll if you want more power than stock.

First time I managed to get out to play online in GT6.  Thanks for keeping the event running long enough for me to join.  It was a lot of fun.

I got to say.  Allowing players to vote for tracks is a great idea but with a max of 16 players and something like 36 tracks plus variations, it's very likely that no track is going to get more than one vote.
