Title: Fanatec Clubsport V2 wheel base
Post by: DudeTuna on September 17, 2014, 09:07:45 PM
The new Fanatec Clubsport Wheel Base V2 is up for order now. You do however need an Invite Code to do so, anyone who purchased a Fanatec product through their website will eventually receive one. If you chose to not use your code or if you do use it you will be given a second invite code after purchase.

I am looking to purchase one and would greatly appreciate it if someone will give me a code they will not be using.

Thank you

Wouldn't you be getting a code yourself?  I thought you bought a GT3 RS from them, no?

I haven't seen a code yet, but if you need one you can have mine if/when it comes.

I want this wheel more than you can possibly imagine, but money is tight after paying off the wifes hospital bills and I'll have to hold off for a while.

My first order with Fanatec was April of 2014. The invites are going out according to purchase date, so I am somewhere at the bottom of the list.

Also, you have to log into Fanatec go to MY ACCOUNT then click view Invitations. In order to see if you have one.

Ah ok that makes sense.  I got my wheel back in 2011 so hopefully I'll see an invite soon and you can have it.

Do me a favor though otherwise I'll forget....   bump this thread every once in a while to remind me to check my account.

I might be bumping this every couple of days, as it looks like the code is only valid for a week.

Also, here is a post regarding the feel in GT6.

Do you know if they're sending an email as well?

If so I'll get that for sure as all my emails come straight to my phone.

Good point you probably will receive an email.

Are you sure you don't want daily bumps though?

When will you send the invite codes?

The codes will be sent out in the coming months depending on the supply of the product. The codes will be sent according to the order date of your previous purchase (the older the higher priority) and in this order:

Owners of Owners of CSR Elite wheel and ClubSport Wheel Base V1
Owners of other Clubsport products: ClubSport Pedals, ClubSport Shifters, ClubSport Handbrake
All other customers

I fall in the "All other customers" category so it sounds like I'll be waiting a while.

Anyone heard how big the discount is?

Anyone heard of these. They say the direct drive is more communicative than other systems and supposedly has a really strong feedback feel to it.

Yup.  Similar design to the Leo Bodnar wheel.

This one is rumored to be less expensive than the Bodnar, but I'll guess it'll still be around $2500 or so.  And that's just for the base.  Add more $$$ for a compatible wheel.

The Bodnar wheel is around $4750 (base + wheel), no pedals.

I was able to place my order on September 28rd, they took my money and I have no update for shipping. From what I have read it will probably be end of November, then I still need a wheel rim. Hopefully by then Fanatec has sealed a deal with Sony as a supported wheel supplier and they release a PS4 wheel rim.

At this time I have no plans for the GT2 wheel.

I was holding out hope they would have a PS4 compatible wheel announcement by now. So with the CSW V2 base due in a few weeks I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the BMW M3 GT2 steering wheel to mount to the base.

It's all good now. First thing I did was update the fimware (which is very easy to do on this wheel) and check wheel and button operation. That was all good.

The confusion comes when Fanatec calls out different buttons in different parts of their literature. The Select + Circle are the correct buttons.

Thanks Wiz.  :)

I noticed the problem on Monday and knew I needed to make a video of the concern. I got that together and emailed them last night and had an email back this morning with an RMA number. They have been been very good regarding my issue.

I prepaid for it back September, it arrived in December faulty. I am just a bit disappointed is all.

And they did not even repair mine, they sent back a brand new boxed wheel complete. As bad as that wheel felt it amazingly still functioned. Had I known I would be without it for a month I would have waited until after the holidays to return it.

I have a Porsche GT2 wheel. It needs to go in for RMA too though. The left paddle shifter switch failed and the alcantara cover is coming unstitched in one spot.
