Title: Let's talk about Sport, baby.
Post by: Wiz on October 27, 2015, 01:29:27 PM
The new Gran Turismo will be named Gran Turismo Sport, apparently.

First trailer...

With all this information and a trailer, it should be out in a year or two I would think.

I read public beta early '16. I will probably hold off on a PS4 until full release. Unless of course if it turns into a prologue type delay, then I would probably jump in and start playing.

Not seeing anything ground breaking. That trailer would've fit for GT 5 or 6, really. Sure it looks good, but they need to look at what other games are doing, and get their crap together.

If I could afford a Xbone, I'd be all over Forza 6. The car list alone has me drooling.

Actually the game that has me considering the xbone is Forza Horizon.  The first one was great fun even if the physics weren't sim quality.

My first thought seeing Wiz's post was, "Awesome a GT trailer"  They might not be great at making video games but they sure know how to put out a great trailer,  but this trailer was kind of disappointing.

I think I see the angle they're taking in that trailer.  It doesn't spell it out, but GT is going to try and do something that the other games aren't doing, rather than simply doing everything they've seen the others do in the past few years.

What they need to do is a little of both.  We'll see.

(I see them doing a lot more with motorsports than the others, FIA is only a small part.  Might be a lot more historical cars than we've seen lately)

If the game's put together well (a big maybe), and the content is really amazing, this could be the next big thing.  But, we'll have likely a couple years to be teased and speculate.  Should keep some forums busy for a while!
Title: Re: Let's talk about Sport, baby.
Post by: Feldynn on October 28, 2015, 09:50:04 AM
If the game itself doesn't support older wheels (specifically the G27) then I doubt I'll be getting it because I don't even have the console yet, I have little incentive to buy a PS4 as it is so having to buy a whole new wheel / pedals on top of that just for one game would be even more of a turn off for me.
Title: Re: Let's talk about Sport, baby.
Post by: DudeTuna on October 28, 2015, 11:21:33 AM
I have a feeling Sport is only going to be the FIA competition. Which they would deliver like the Academy.

@Feldynn, I probably have supported PS4 wheel, depending on game developer. Yet I have continued to hold off on purchasing a PS4. Until there is a racing game on it we all play I will not be a PS4 owner.

I'm sure most of you have seen these news articles at GTP, but just in case...

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-what-we-know-so-far/ (https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-what-we-know-so-far/)

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-is-not-gran-turismo-7-more-substantial-than-prologue-titles/ (https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-is-not-gran-turismo-7-more-substantial-than-prologue-titles/)

Sounds like GT Sport is a beefier Prologue, and not taking the place of GT7.

I'm looking forward to the beta, demo thing.  I'm curious to see what they've come up with this time and I hope I like it.

I wonder what this will mean for the GT6 servers. I can only guess they'll follow that same pattern as the last few games.  But, its PD so who knows.
Title: Re: Let's talk about Sport, baby.
Post by: EX_stream_tuna on October 29, 2015, 11:35:52 AM
there was never a time with GT5 Prologue, where there was another server to keep up at the same time.  I believe it is something to be concerned about.  Would they keep GT6 up if there is something on the newer console?  It would be nice to get a commitment and not just have to guess.  maybe that clarification will come in the next few months...
Title: Re: Let's talk about Sport, baby.
Post by: MasterGT on January 04, 2016, 01:16:36 PM
I will try to pin them down as to how long they plan on keeping GT6 up, but they know that they have to keep it around longer than GT5. They told me this and I plan on putting flames to their feet if they renege. It probably is way to early for them to say anything to anybody, at this time, however.

GT Sport is just a testbed for the FIA stuff, so I am not sure about the cars they showed. Because of that, I was told that there was only going to be race cars, so that doesn't explain the non-race cars in the video. dunno

Hmmm, GT Sport. We're all waiting, right?

There is a new PlayStation 4K on the near horizon. It is probably called PS 4K for an obvious reason, plus the GPU will also support the PS VR headset better, so it seems developers, including PDI, are starting to program directly for the higher quality graphic abilities, plus the CPU is also supposed to be much faster. If you want to play GT Sport and GT 7+ on the PS4 with either the VR or in 4K, then you probably will want to get the noticeably smaller PS 4K. The suggestion based on everything that I have read, so far, is that the original PS 4 may not quite be able to handle them all that well.

All of this costs money, but if you can dump your current PS4, it will help to recover some of the new costs.

i have no interest in VR or 4k at this point. So long as they play on a regular ps4 thats good enough for me. If they don't, then I'll be done. I'll just play what i have til they (or I) die

Good news! I can hold off on getting my PS4 even longer. This might work out well as Fanatec is currently working on Sony licensing.

 :(

I have 4k but I only care about it with regards to movies and in truth so far I'm not all that impressed.  As long as the game is still compatible with older PS4s and they don't short the non-4k owners on content, I don't care if they provide a 4k option. I'd personally prefer they spend the time making their 3D presentation stronger as apposed to adding 4k.

If I sell my PS4 I won't buy another one.  If PD makes a bad decision and makes GT incompatible with the old PS4s I'm out.  But hey that'd never happen PD never makes a bad decision...  :P

The only money I plan on spending on Sony hardware anytime in the next several years is the replacement hardware to fix my ailing PS3 blu ray drive.  >:(  Maybe then I can at least play GT6 again.

This is from NeoGAF
It was stated plainly and with no room for interpretation that there are developers that already have development kits for the PS4K and that they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specs of the PS4K. It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4 but with considerable sacrifices made to performance.

Yes, I'm very curious about the livery editor.  Will it just be supplied stickers and paint, or can we make our own?  Only time will tell.

Since I got a PS4, I went ahead and pre-ordered the limited edition.  If you are a Amazon Prime member you can pre-order plus get 20% off the price.  The LE version cost me $55 and some change.    :)

What I saw of it yesterday, along with stickers and such, was shapes that you can manipulate. With some patience and skills, I'm sure you could create just about anything.

Gran Turismo Sport (http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/products/gtsport/preorder/) Release Date: 18 November 2016

The link I posted yesterday still shows the 15rd, and is what they said at the evnet as well. Europe I believe was said to be the 18nd.

I was almost thinking the same thing.

If you go with the 500gig I don't expect you'll run out of space anytime soon unless you want to buy a lot of games.  I've got three digital games and two disk games and so far I don't think I've even used 100gigs.

yeah, not surprising at all anymore.  THey shouldn't even tell us about new GT games until they have gone gold (pressed).

Many of the comments under these "delayed" videos say "well at least it will be a complete and unbroken game when it does come out"... I respond... "haha yeah right.  That's what we thought about all of the others..."

Activities are very limited, so you're mostly TTing when there's no races going on. As y'all know, I'm not much for TTs so I get bored in no time.

Tried out the record, and upload feature straight from the ps4 last night. It really drops the video quaility, before you even send it to you tube.

Typical public racing, had a couple dive bombers, avoided one, the other acted like I wasn't even there. Karma got him though, I was able to keep going.

I've seen preorders on Amazon and EBGames (Canadian version of GameStop).  Release date is dec 31 at Amazon and Dec 28 at EBGames.  Probably based on PD's "promise" to ship the game in 2017, even if it's impossible they ship a week after Christmas.

Haven't registered for the Beta yet since I don't have a PS4 yet.  The Beta doesn't seem to be available to Canadian players yet (I've read that people cheat by creating a USA PSN user).

On PS4 you need to pay a monthly fee for the PSN ?  I played GT6 online 1 or 2 times in the last year.  If I don't have more time to play online it will be quite expensive to pay the PSN for a few nights per year.  I will probably need to pay the PSN anyways just to get the game updates.

The PS3 is used solely to play LEGO games.  For now I play Lego Lord of the Rings with my 6 years old.  Not too much time left for racing.  I spend an hour or 2 every 2 weeks on seasonal events.

From what I understand, you don't need PS+ to get updates.

Also, you don't need PS+ to play the GTS beta either. I'm sure that'll change when the full game comes out.

If nothing else, PD is highly skilled in the trailer making business.

I only play the beta every once in a while, but I'm looking forward to the full game. Hoping for a little of the usual GT formula, but the new stuff, if done right should really make for a good game. I need more than just a racer, which is why my copy of PCars is collecting dust, and Asetto wasn't even on my radar.

I have Forza 6 and Horizon 2 on my xbox one.  I just can't get into Forza 6 even though it has really improved a lot.  I've really had a lot of fun with Horizon on the Xbox360 and Horizon2 on my xbox one even though the physics aren't really that great.  The career mode makes a big difference.

I read something recently calling Gran Turismo one of the losers of this years E3 because it used to be a system seller and now it doesn't even make Sony's presentation.  Microsoft is releasing the 5th variant of Forza this fall for the xbox one and we still do not have a GT for the PS4.

^^^^  what he said .....

Also, there are quite a few that are running a controller, myself included. Amazingly, I have not touched any of the controller settings ... it's been perfect.  In comparison, PCars was an absolute horror.

I know several people that are running CronusMax .... one or two button mapping issues, but those have been great as well.

There's one issue with the controller, and only seems to be an issue when traction is lost. The steering is very slow to respond, making it almost impossible to save a spin. As long as you maintain traction there is no issue, but drifting is not going to happen, until this is resolved.

Here's a discussion about it on GTP....https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/ds4-steering-way-too-unresponsive.361272/ (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/ds4-steering-way-too-unresponsive.361272/)

I enjoyed the demo. The focus is on online racing, so the offline part is small. I think the Livery editor will keep me busy, though. Unfortunately, they are holding off on letting you upload user created stuff made outside of the game. I already have a couple ready, for when they open the gates.

Be aware this games saves to their servers, and not on your console, so no connection, no save. You also can't play anything but arcade when the server is down, which it is right now.

Major flaw on their part. No doubt they've done this to keep people from duping/cheating, but at the moment, I don't think it's worth the aggravation.

I thought I'd drop by and see what every ones' thoughts were on the game, I did not realize things had died down as much as they have.  Hopefully things pick up again and every one is doing well.

As for me I gotta give PD a thumbs up.  I was starting to think my PS4 was just going to end up an overpriced blu ray player.  I thought I was done with racing games but after watching a few online videos I was convinced it was worth a shot and so far I have not been disappointed.

I have not been online yet, but the arcade mode has plenty of options, the AI is decent and the livery editor takes some learning but wow it is easy to lose track of time.  I lost three hours working on one design and I probably could have spent hours more adding additional details.  My only complaint is I want all the old tracks but that will never change/happen.

I don't know how much I'll be around but I will probably get back online soon and race when I can. Either way its nice to see PD heading in the right direction.

Circuit Experience is the quickest way to get money and XP.

The entire Campaign Mode is worth 6.8m credits and 22,566XP (plus another 12,550XP for all the Achievements you'll hit in the process). Of that, 4.1m and 13,623XP comes from Circuit Experience.

But they're one-time prizes...

Had a bunch of fun in Sport Dailies @ Dragon Trail last night ... some minor contact going on every race, but I could once again see the effort people were putting in to drive clean. I had one race where I was a 'red' rating, but I had a few 'neutrals' and several 'blues'.  Probably ran 7-8 races all told and averaged out an overall improvement.  No wins, no poles or fast laps, but was also trying out different cars in my garage.  I think I liked the NSX the best.  Achievement for "Clean Races" I noticed improved too.

Good stuff with not one network error (some have been complaining on forums) ... pretty enjoyable for being out in the wild.

I'm hesitant to do so, as I don't know if I'll be able to run the all. Maybe I'm over thinking it?

Personally, I much prefer the shorter races in daily's, but I really haven't looked deeply into the others. I've just been experimenting with the game and enjoying it with no professional pressure heaped on.

I really like the option to check the room settings in open lobbies before joining .... specifically TC.  Just like PCars, the cars are uncontrollable for me on DS4 without it.  Just a minor setting of "1" suffices 90% of the time ...... but, I did come across one car (can't remember it) in Missions/Circuit that I jacked it up to "3" before I could tame it driveable.  Again, just like PCars ..... even if TC is turned on in Sport, it can be individually turned off if you don't like it.

dmcallis posted this trick over at TPRA

I doubt anyone drives 24/7. Hope not, anyway. So, why not buy those VGT cars with cash you don't have to drive for, well, more than one lap worth anyway? Just let the race run while you are away from the PS4, or asleep?

How? Arcade Mode / Custom Race. In the test, I used Northern Isle Speedway.

Go to Arcade Mode, then down to Custom Race. Then select the track and time. Now, (important!) pick a N100 car, either the Miata or one from your garage. Pick color and transmission, neither really matter...

Now, we wanna maximize the payout. Note thy readout on the left for credits and experience.
Pick Endurance as Race type. Then how long your PS4 won't be used. My test was for 6 hours.
Set Number of cars to 2, we want second place guaranteed.
No Boost bumps the payout, so select that.
Most of the other things have no effect on payout, until we come to the reason we picked N100 before, Opponent Category. Pick Gr.1.
Set Opponent Difficulty to Professional, and at a 6 hour race, you are looking at Cr.1.47 million and 11k experience, while you are doing something else. edit: NO idea why it shorted me 10k, but I can live with it...
Park down low, set the parking brake, and come back when the timer runs out.
It doesn't seem to pay the Safe Race bonus, for some reason. A LITTLE disappointment with that. LOL

You DO have to drive the last lap, you have to do one to cross thew finish line after the timer expires... But pretty good cash and experience for one lap...

Hope this helps you with getting those VGT cars. There are a bunch of them...

If you are round and about when you run the endurance races, the biggest payout based on time, is to keep doing the 10 minute race.
That has the highest per minute payout.

10 minute race = 6150 / min + 50% clean race = 9225 x 60 = $553,500.
60 minute race = 4100 / min + 50% clean race = 6150 x 60 = $369,000.

2 and 4 hour races payout the same / minute as a 1 hour race.

I didn't get chance to check the longer races.

NOTE, do a couple of laps at the start of the race to make sure you get the Clean Race bonus.

Yay! Amazon finally got me my game. Now to install for "5 hours" while my PS4 fights for bandwith against Stranger Things...

Also, anyone know why it's rated "E For Everyone" but with Tobacco and Alcohol use? I thought it was supposed to rate the gameplay... not the Tunas I race with  (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

Thanks for tips, Pete.

Also need to turn off Rest Mode. I set mine to do a 3 hour race while I worked in the yard. Checked on it after 2, and it paused the race after an hour, and went into rest mode. ::)

I was going to add that tip this morning, mine did the same thing on a 4 hour race last night.. had the timer set for 2 hours. :o

Also make sure your controller is not set to automatically turn off.  If it does it'll pause the race.

I've had the Driving School 100% gold for a bit, and just got Circuit Experience 100% gold yesterday. I'm down to the last row of the Mission Challenges, all gold so far, but I can see already, these last 8 are going to be a son of a bitch.

I’ve been working on those myself. I’ve got golds @ driving school, done a small percentage of mission challenges and have been cherry picking the circuits. I’ve been a bit under the weather this past week, but feeling better now, so this afternoon I’ll try to finish golding the noodle. Then if I still have some energy I’ll take chance @ the online sport mode. I wonder if that’s something we could all connect together in if we hit enter course at the same time, a la prologue?

Probably not. It's based off your ratings, and Q times.

Might be a fun experiment if you got two or three people with the same rating and no Q time.

Certainly not the same, but someone posted this on GTP. In Arcade, Nurb 24 track, take a slow car(ND Mazda), set AI to group1, professional, fuel consumption to x10, and 1 lap.

You still have to drive it, but it's just 1 lap, and it'll pay around 140k credits. All the group 1 cars run out of fuel, so you can just cruise right by.

So what does everyone think of the game?
I like it so far, a little sad I finished the Campaign already, though. The livery editor has kept me pretty busy.

Haven't done much online racing, not that I haven't tried. The game shows I have friends in a lobby, but it won't show up when you search for it. PD needs to fix that.

I've noticed this too, but heres my hunch .... You may have friends showing online in a lobby (Blue above the lobby icon), but you can't find them when you search friends online because they are in a private room that your not friends with the host.

That may be true ... I've only been in a private room a couple of times. Last night I was, from about 8-10:30 est. and the guy I was with was host. He's new and trying to bring him up to speed with our way of doing things. Otherwise, it seems most on my friends list have been dabbling in the open.

By the way, I can't find a pumpkin on challenge #2 of Spintires .... LOL

Similar deal here.  I see people on-line but can't find them.  The random matching is mostly ok, most people seem to be trying to race clean, but there are plenty of inexperienced people that have not figured things out yet.  I wish the gaps between races was smaller.

Livery editor is great, even if you just want to change the car's color. Custom arcade race is great and sort of makes up for the lack of a traditional career mode. The best part is I have not come across any major flaws like the tire issues in GT6.

I've done 2 sport mode races.  On pole and won the first one.  Had pole on second race.  Got destroyed in first turn, came in 9th.  I decided I'd had enough of sport mode.  Will wait for the private and/or friends room and seek my racing there.

Keep working to improve your rating out of the cellar of E/B ... thats where all the yo-yo's are.  You'll notice a vast improvement of the quality of drivers in the upper ranks.  I enjoy Sport mode alot ....

I totally agree.  Once I got into a room will all drivers with a safety rating of A things improved.  I suggest don't qualify, stick with road courses, and just hang in the back to up your rating.  I think 10 clean races should be enough to get into a better group.

I went to Best Buy and tried out Sport. They had a cockpit setup with a Thrustmaster wheel. I had my kids with me so I couldn't try it for long but it seemed pretty cool. I drove on an oval track and the AI wasn't particularly well versed with driving etiquette on an oval. The thrustmaster wheel felt quite good.

Chrome ---  I have a request please ...

In memory of the multi-million dollar drug cartel I built in GTA5 ...

Agents Of Tuna

Originally, it was all one line in a brushscript type font.  I'd like this, to put on the trunk lids of cars.

I'd also like another one for door panels .... Tuna below Agents Of.  This doesn't need to be brushscript.  You've got a great ability at these things ..... have at it.  Don't be afraid to make multiple types either .... I'll take as many as you make for variety.  :)

Another flop with the uploader. Uploaded 28 files today, 17 of them were garbage in game. I've reached out for help on GTP, as I'm stumped.

Just my observation .... but I've been pleasantly surprised with the updated 'incident' model in Sport-mode.  Several times over the course of a few days, I've been wacked from behind, sometimes sending me off track.  At race end, my SR has been blue and sometimes even get a clean race bonus. If there is heavy contact while side by side, I may get an orange SR at the next marker, but sometimes finish the race with a blue SR.  It seems maybe PD has differentiated between the front/sides/rear of the car in terms of contact.  It's really nice to know that if I do get wacked from behind, it's seeing it as not being my fault, almost always.  Side by side .... Mmmmm ... maybe a grey area.  If I wack into somebody with the nose of the car, well that will drop me from blue to neutral for one contact .... anymore and you'll be a red for sure.

Hope I explained well what I think I'm seeing .... a big step in the right direction.  I'm not sure how many play Sport-mode on a regular daily basis .... I do, and have noticed the change.

The search function works much better from a computer, by going here....https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/discover/overview (https://www.gran-turismo.com/us/gtsport/user/discover/overview)
Log in with the same info you use on the console. The search function there shows more than the one in game. See something you like, add it, and it'll be there the next time you play.

I left my ps4 in rest mode last night, so it would do the update, and be ready when I get home from work.  (http://i.imgur.com/LmjyBgx.gif)

These updates have been pretty good so far.

How long do we expect them to keep occurring... and how long do we expect them to keep occurring for free?

Anyone caring about the Achievements in GT Sport ?

I didn't look seriously at the Drift achievement since I'm really bad at drifting, but I found that you can get drift points for drifting on dirt tracks, which is quite easy.

Maybe it's called cheating...

I don't know if this is the right place, but I should be on GT Sport Wednesday 31st from 9PM until midnight EST, and I would be happy to get some online racing.

Stepper, we're supposed to get 50 cars added by March, and some tracks. We got 1 real track, and a couple variations of existing tracks. I think we're at the halfway point on the cars.

Yvesf, I'll keep an eye out for you.

My wife finally let me replace our old DLP TV. I found a a sale on a TV which included a gift card. I used the money from the gift card to pick up a ps4 pro and GT Sport (partly).

This game is fucking georgious in HDR. In fact, it is one of the best demos for HDR that I have seen.

Anyway, anyone have any tips on how to play this game? Where is the best place to get started?

Doc, do the Circuit Experience first. Good one time payouts, and you get a car after every track. Golds are easy.

After that the Driving School is OK, and you get a car after you complete a set.

Thanks Chrome. I'm not very fast with a controller so golds are a bit of a challenge.

How is your wife doing?

The times are generaly easy to beat, so you should do fine.

The wife is doing very good. She's not slowing down for anything.

I've got one too. It's great! I can't map my buttons exactly the way I had them before but it's close enough.

I have a wheelhub on the way. It is currently in Montreal. It should be here by early next week.

I'm starting to get used to the controller and starting to get golds easier. I only used a controller with the xbox but I was mostly playing Horizon which is fairly arcadey.

My drive hub arrived. It works like crap for the native fanatec mode. Gas pedal and  brake pedal calibration keep screwing up and the force feedback is not very good. fanalogic mode works great though and I can use my Thrustmaster shifter which is cool.

So I have kind of been re-bitten by the sim bug. I've moved my PS4 to my sim-rig. I miss out on the beautiful HDR images but get to race with a wheel. I have to put up with my PlayStation monitor which blacks out at least once every time I play. But it is amazing the difference that convenience can make. All I have to do to race is turn on my PS4 and climb into my cockpit and drive. I don't have to clear off a space on my desk for my laptop and figure out which cables I need to connect to it and set up VR. I will probably get back into sim racing on my computer eventually, but for now the convenience of a console is great. I haven't tried connecting my xbox to the wheel yet but I probably will soon. I'm not a huge fan of Forza Motorsport but Forza Horizon is a blast even with a controller. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a more casual game on either the xbox or PC.

I have been getting pretty burnt out over the past couple of years (and in the past 6 months in particular). I have been working hard at a new job with a large learning curve and trying to work on my VR projects. I have been lacking energy and have been spending more time just zoning out in front of the TV. Amazingly, I find that sim-racing for short periods of time really boosts my energy levels and instead of falling asleep at the TV, I feel better and can get more work done.

Get use to it, Doc. I delete my duplicates, which means I hardly ever get to keep a car from the workout.

I've been redoing the circuit experience to build some confidence and regain some speed. I figured that no one really tried that hard to go their fastest after getting gold. Interlagos went as planned but I have a lot of experience with Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace from iRacing and Game Stock Car.

Next I thought I'd tackle the Nordschleife where I ran into a brick wall called MasterGT. Despite tons of practice I only managed to beat 2-3 of his times. I was usually able to beat SpecMiata's times but not always.

Anyways, I hear that the leaderboards have been wiped out so I won't have the chance to beat MasterGT's times unless he redoes them.  >:(

I did a GT Sport mode race last night for the first time since the penalty changes. There was a lot of argy bargy without people getting penalties. Has there been a decline in clean racing with the new penalty system?

Get out of the cellar .... excellent racing once you get a couple levels up from the bottom.  Those are the people that care about improving their ranking to race better drivers. The higher you go ... the better it gets. Lets say you are a C/D driver ... all it takes is a couple bad races to drop ranks.  It happens quickly and those intent on improving race drastically better.

The dumbasses in the cellar ranks will always be there ... its a chore to get out of there, but once you do, you should enjoy it.

Watch out for the Brazilians ....

Getting out of D class is easier said than done. I'm not as fast as I once was.  I've gotten my safety rating up to S so I am racing mostly with S class drivers so you'd think that the racing would be clean but not so much.

Doc, be very picky about where you race. Avoid Brands, Tokyo, and the speedways at first for sure. Those are rank killers, due to it being so easy for wreckers.

I've only ran 20 sport mode races, and my DR is B, and SR is S. 4 wins, a few top fives, and kept my nose clean.

I was wondering why all the leader boards were empty for a lot of the offline events, haha.

I've experienced, for the most part, pretty clean racing.  And at the moment I'm a C driver (only been playing online for a few weeks).

The penalty system though, really pisses me off at times.  Last night (in warm up laps before qualifying thank God) I was rear ended by someone racing on a different line (he was outside of turn, I was inside).  I didn't dive bomb in, it was a very clean pass before the turn.  For whatever reason he came inside and bumped me from behind (not hard).  Result of that was a 2.000 sec penalty for me.   >:(    And back last week in FIA Nation's Cup race #2 I accidentally cut a bit too much over a curb through the S turns (tires gripped more than I expected) and I was slapped with a 4.000 second penalty.  I was in 2nd at the time, that pretty much did me in lol.

Is anyone else participating in the FIA cups right now?  Based off my friends list...I'm guessing no.  Anyway, I'm doing pretty well so far.  2 Triple Crowns and a 3rd place finish.  Still, I don't understand how the points system works at all.  I'm guessing it's more a combination of fast laps, passing for position, and higher level opponents?
