TuTu November 12 2013 - Your First Ride in GT5
« on: November 09, 2013, 09:10:35 AM »

Car: The first car you bought in GT5 with your starting cash ($20,000 limit). NO DLC/CHROMELINE.

Stock. Oil change. Wheels and paint allowed.

Restrictions:
Tuning: Prohibited
Tires: STOCK (sports hard will be set as the maximum)
Lounge: TuTuTuna
Opening Track: Some kind of Cape Ring... or whatever

WRULES AND WRINKLES:
Please bring only the first car you bought in GT5. If you've tuned it, buy another copy of it and bring it out. Doesn't matter what it is, as it should've been less than $20,000. Here are the rules:
  • If you finish in the top 3, please remove 5pp
  • If you finish in the last 2, please add 5pp (that has been removed)
  • If there are less than 5 cars in the race, I'm gonna be pissed
  • As always, if this needs to be adjusted on the fly, then we will

This will be the second-to-last TuTu we run in GT5. Come out and help send the game off. Next week will be the last GT5 TuTu before a bit of a break before GT6. (if anyone still wants to race on Tuesdays after next week, let me know, maybe we'll do some public room shufflin just for kicks)

I still remember my very first car in GT5, it was a Lime Greem Two-tone Nissan Silvia (S13) though I forget if it was an '88 or '91 but I can check as I still have it :D.  If anyone needs a stock version of their car please let me know, I have many stock cars already and can keep a look out for others as I will be doing some UCD flipping at some point to get my own one back too.

I am curious if I still have My First GT5 Car. I am almost certain it is still parked in the Garage. A 97 Honda Civic, I must have used it for My first A spec race.

Fun evening, thanks everyone.

Chevy and I finished most races within 1 second of each other, while I had 20-25 PP more than him.

I started GT5P with a car from a dealer (a Ford Focus I think), but when I started GT5 I went to the used car dealer, since you can get a pretty good car for less than 20,000$.  In GT5, you get new choices at the UCD for running licence tests, so it helped getting something you like.  We'll see how it works in GT6.

Thanks Stepper, and all the guys.
Who would have thought we could have that much fun with our 3 year old cars, and the PP changes made for some real close racing.
It was one of those nights when you got to race with everyone.

I had an absolute blast also, it never ceases to amaze me how much fun we can have running cheap / lower powered cars :).  As Pete said the PP changes really tightened things up, it's interesting to see the range of different vehicles we originally brought too for that measly 20k, anything from about 360PP all the way up to 420PP or so I think.

Thanks Stepper for event, thanks everyone for the awesome racing!

Thanks for coming out everyone... unfortunately I had the lowest pp car in the field and didn't stay past 9:30 so there were guys who were still way out front. Had some good Miata battles in the back of the pack with Chrome.

you and I had comparable cars. Chrome and I had great battles when I kept my head on my shoulders but with my rustyness that wasn't often. Additionally, I loaded my original account and turns out I did in fact have the car I started with. I will have to remember next time we do an event like this not to bother, because what treats me well against the AI is not necessarily good for online competition.
