Yeah that's perfect.

can you update the OP to include who is using which car?  That will make it easier to pick something else.

thanks.

so qualifying at 9:15?  that would work perfectly for me (if kid goes to sleep when he's told)

Some people are being difficult getting back to me, but I think the only cars that are spoken for are the S2000, Supra RZ and Efini RX7.  I'm also redoing this race on Tuesday for some people that can't attend Thursday's evnet and in that race the R33 Skyline is spoken for.

To be on the safe side give yourself a first and second choice.  If there's a conflict of several people wanting to use the same car whoever declared their intentions first will be given the nod.

trying to make it there for 9:00 tonight  Might be more like 9:15.

I'll most likely have the Acura NSX Premium

Sounds good Ex!

I just hope I can make it there myself!  I've been having repeated server errors.  I'm not being kicked off PSN, just the GT5 server.  This is not good :(

Great opening race Wolfpack!  Decent turn out and a good spread of cars too made for some great racing moments!  There were a few spin outs here and there but nothing major resulted, I think everyone did a great job of racing clean but respectfully hard.

I know Dawson and I had some great side by side flip flop action for a few laps as I did with Looney too before my untimely disconnection from the lobby, judging by where Looney and Dawson where when I returned I think the three of us would have had a pretty good battle for 2nth toward the end of the race.

Car wise I think the Mitsubishi GTO is quite the underrated little car, it's almost definitely the heaviest of the bunch weighing in at 1670kg or so but aside from a bit of slightly excessive tire wear (that might be due to my setup or driving style) I thought it handled surprisingly well.  It did feel like a heavy car but it didn't drive like one if that makes sense, I felt like I could through it's weight around corners quite easily without it bogging down like a truck.

Thanks for setting it up Wolfpack, looking forward to the next race!

 :stoopid:

Speaking of the spin outs, the first I drove through the smoke "Days of Thunder" style.  I got lucky on that one, but the next lap I ended up crashing into Danny after his spin out but was only hobbled briefly.

After getting spun out myself in the early going I was able to claw back just after many of us pitted around lap 13. It wasn't long after that when a bunch of us were racing in a pack when Feldynn unfortunately got disconnected.  I chased Wolfpack down after several good laps and was able to stay ahead by avoiding my inevitable big mistake that I seem to have every race.

ExXbox drove away with it by staying ahead of the early crashes and putting in some of the best laps,  effortlessly, while giving driving tips.

Thanks for the kind words fellas!  It is most appreciated and I was pretty happy with the turnout, especially since I know of 4 other people that want to participate but could not make this date.  The lobby disconnects were quite unfortunate (Feldynn wasn't the only victim).  I was having GT5 server issues myself so I consider myself lucky for not being booted.

I really enjoyed seeing such a variety of 90s Japanese sports cars in one race.  And it was great to have them all so closely matched.  LooneyTuna and ExXboxFan, hats off to you 2 for some excellent driving.  If Looney hadn't been the helpless victim of an early crash I'd imagine he could have challenged for the lead!  As to me, I think I was driving the Supra to the best of my ability and 90% of my lap times varied by less than 1-2 seconds (and were just barely off my fastest lap time).

Without further ado here are last night's results:

        PSN                            Car                                     Time                  Gap                        Points
1  exXboxFan                     Acura NSX '91                      42:16.950               --                            100
2  STVM_LooneyTuna    Honda S2000 (US) '99                  42:38.750           +21.000                         90
3  dawson864              Toyota Supra RZ '97                    42:41.726            +24.776                         80
4  PsychoPhreak  Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo MR '98            43:02.814           +45.864                         70
5  skyfire3000     Nissan Skyline GT-R V Spec II (R32) '95    43:37.222        +1:20.272                         60
6  Valrik             Nissan Skyline GT-R V Spec II (R32) '95    44:09.740        +1:52.790                         50
7  dannydigital         Honda NSX Type S Zero '99               44:50.599         +2:33.649                        40
8  blasphemour        Mazda efini RX-7 Type R (FD) '91         time expired                                           30
9  Feldynn          Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo MR '98             lobby disconnect around lap 14 I think        20
10 SnakeEyes427  Nissan Skyline GT-R V Spec (R33) '97      lobby disconnect around lap 8 (maybe?)      10

I look forward to seeing you guys for the next event in January.  As we had 10 people for this race we still have room for more so if you'd like to join in let me know!

thanks dawson/wolfpack for the great race.  it was nice meeting some new people, but I think all the "voices" were familiar ones.  Good chit-chat alwasy keeps a race fun.  Sometimes the quiet ones are good racing, but boring online interaction.

though, as I noted toward the end of the race, my "chit-chat" lap was a full five seconds slower than my "head down and concentrate" lap that preceeded it.  I buckled down and pulled another one of those fast laps before the end.

1:31.0 is the time to beat on Tokyo with an NSX to spec. if anyone wants to try it.

There was a varied field talent-wise, so it was cool in that it provided something for everyone.

Looney finally clawed his way up to the front, and he kept me at around 18.xxx seconds for a few laps.  I then had my "head down" moment and pulled it to over 21sec by the end.

Finally got that victory toke at the end ;) 8)

Sorry I haven't updated the points standing  (trying to figure out a way to combine the results of the two "event 1" races).  Been busy with the holidays but I'll have it figured soon.  Oh and don't worry ex-Eboxfan, you will be in 1st ;D

Moving forward Race #2 is to be held in January between the 10th and 25th.  As mentioned before the course will be the Madrid city circuit.  Please state which day works best for you (or alternately if you're mostly free state which day(s) does NOT work for you).

Event length will be 40 laps, with the same rules as before.

(I sent out a group email regarding this as well)

Friday and Saturday are ususally the hardest for me. I should be able to attend any day if push comes to shove with enough notice.

Hope to see you Metal.  ;D

LooneyTuna I don't like doing events on Friday or Saturday nights either so we'll try to avoid that.

Metal, do you mean you can only play those nights till 1030pm?  Or that the event must start by then?  Either way I don't think it'll be a problem.  Metal we would love to have you aboard.  At this point I technically have 16 people signed up.  However I am sure that come the day of the race there is always 1-2 people that can't make it.

Cars that are still available for use are as follows:
'97 Supra RZ
'97 MR2 GT-S
'91 Efini RX-7 Type R
'89 Fairlady Z 300ZX Twin Turbo

Refer back to the first page of this thread for all the rules and regulations.  Also add me as a friend on PSN; name is dawson864

Sorry for my absence lately, I will be able to start making the races from here on out.  Holidays were busy for me.

If I haven't been bumped yet that is. :-[
