I'm glad that this event didn't take place over the weekend, since I was gone  :D

I've previously told Phreak I'm down so whenever this is actually set up I will be there!

Allrighty, I like the consensus and agreement so far, so some details will now become final.  Updating first post/title!

Also, I found I don't remember this track for $^%*!  I'll be practicing a lot if anyone ever wants to join, look for my yellow circle!

So those that have made vehicle requests have been assigned.  At this point I'm not restricting car choice, or your ability to change your mind, so if we have a 1 make race so be it, but I don't think there's a clear "winner" of these selections so we'll see as more people get comfortable with rides and voice choices.

The only vehicle I *may* drop is the 4wd subaru (sorry Wolfpack) if it can be shown to be overly advantageous, as I feel it might be, especially if it rains.  Thoughts on disallowing 4wd from here or any experience with a GT300 field?  It's easy enough to restrict in the lobby if we decide to ban it.

Also, if anyone's missing any of the standard cars and would like to try them, I have them all, just let me or someone else know and I'm sure a ticket can be shot out of the ticket cannon!

And finally for those practicing: If you're trying to setup a lounge like the race will be setup and no matter what you are still being denied entry because "Tuning [PROHIBITED]", go through ALL your settings and click "reset to default".  I've found that even if the numbers don't change, resetting will allow me in the room.

The 4wd suby was nothing special in the 300 series.  Although, my series had locked hp/kg ratio, which may give different results.

Have you tested these on the long straight yet?  I tried the '08 Garaiya and even though it didn't bounce, it was awfully close.

We did a few races there last night but we were never close to each other by the time we got to the long straight.  Without drafting most cars are close to redline, around 160 mph.  With drafting the rev limiter would most certainly be hit, in every car I'd imagine.

sounds like a good choice for format.

one question about no tuning, as I have very limited knowledge about racing classes.  on the straigths are some of these cars going to top out way before or after others, or are they equal on top speed?

Nevermind it seems I misunderstood Wiz's question about "bouncing"... he meant rev limiter not suspension issues...

Depending on day/time, I'd absolutely love to do this.

on a related note, I'm really starting to get why a lot of you guys like the weaker slipstream, as I was in some races today against a guy I am a rival with and he was able to stick to my bumper more or less for several laps at DRC even though I was pulling much better laps than he was and he passed me at the last moment for a win.

annoyed the hell out of me.  A better driver should win every time, and with some classes of car, a strong slipstream is just too much of a boost crutch.  I like that you guys use weak most of the time.

Have you tested these on the long straight yet?  I tried the '08 Garaiya and even though it didn't bounce, it was awfully close.

"Tested this last night, and while at the end of the long straight they get close to rev limiter, and with a draft may bounce once or twice, I think the setup is perfect, just the right amount of full throttle time."

So that was in the first post, and as Wolfpack said, we ran some last night.  All of them are going to get awfully close, and I agree with a draft will probably reach the limiter, but as was said, by the time you're at that point, I don't see time for more than 1 or 2 bounces before you'll be braking anyway.  Personally, I think settings wise we're good to go, aside from the possible 4wd rain advantage.  I like that it wasn't special in the 300 series, but like was said, that was a locked power/weight ratio... I'm sure someone will be able to throw down some test laps soon, certainly don't have to be at the ring, just have to see if it's an unfair advantage overall or not :)

I'm liking the interest so far!
