• Samba La Bamba II: March 27, 2012

A while back, there was a drive-in that featured the VW Samba Bus - tricked to the tits. Well, it was an effing blast. Some of the most fun I've had online with this game. Well, I've been tempted for a long time, and I'm finally bringing it back.

Car: Volkswagen Typ2 (T1) SambaBus ('62)

Setup: Purchase ALL available parts. If it can be purchased, you MUST buy it. EVERYTHING (or the best of everything - fully customizable transmission instead of the close-ratio 5 speed, etc). However, once the part has been installed, you are not allowed to adjust anything (other than limiting HP if needed). Also, if it needs to be done, we will be setting the TOP SPEED on the transmission to a specified number for each track (as needed). The car is maxed, but it is still TUNELESS.

Restrictions:
Power - 207HP
Weight - 930kg
Tires - Racing Soft
Tuning - Prohibited
Lounge: TuTuTuna

207hp might not sound like a lot, but with all these parts and so little weight, this thing was faster around TGTT than the R390 Road Car, the RUF CTR2 and the Ferrari 599.

I'll be interested to drive this too... I was thinking of a funny event that would pit samba busses vs a delorean, but I haven't tested it yet... would be just for fun sometime.

That was actually what the drive-in Stepper mentioned in the main post was, if I remember right it was a "Get Rick" production where the DeLoreans had to drive as fast as they could and the Samba Buses had to wreck them .  Though it was more a fun thing than an actual race, might be cool to have a proper race with them though, I love me some DeLorean
