Thanks guys :).  I'll have a think on the screen placement, I might be able to rig up something between the console and wheel.  That would mean I could move the monitor platform closer to the wheel some, sort of between the console and wheel but at it's current height, I think I have enough left overs to actually make that work!

As far as I remember, to get a 1:1 size ratio, you take half of the horizontal screen width, add 15%, and that is the distance from the screen.

If you use a swing-arm stand, then you can adjust the screen for other purposes or games.

Nice job Feldynn,

I see you have expandability for the seat, it will still be even better after that. I would think you might roll away without a good grip.

I used to use a TV table which was unbelievable but now that I built my rig it's rock solid.

Got wheel and pedals yesterday. A Fanatec CSR wheel and Clubsport pedals. Modded racing rig and got wheel bolted down tonight and actually turned some laps at Tutu. Will take some adjustment period but like what I have felt so far. Will get pics posted as soon as I get some decent ones.

Stepping out of my mill today at work and slipped landed on hip and ribs on a steel rail. So did not have as much time tonight to do as I pleased but sat down and turned about 25 laps in about 4 very different cars at eiger short. Damn this is a rewarding pedal and wheel combo. Yes rewarding is the first word that came to mind it felt that good.

By the end of the weekend I will post some good pics.

Here is my current setup.  Triple monitor.  The center monitor is also hooked up to my xbox and ps3. my newly acquired used CSR wheel on a Rennsport wheelstand, CSP V2 pedals, Thrustmaster shifter, numpad mounted to the right of the wheel (you can see the white label on one of the keys), Tritton headset,  Acura Integra seat on a custom frame.  I added wheels to the frame so I can slide the chair out to remove the wheel easily.  The wheels have the added benefit that it raised the chair and made it much more comfortable.  The whole thing looks kind of junky but it is very functional.

Looks awesome Feldynn but is there anyway to get the monitor closer?  Looks like it is way too far away.  I think you would be happier if it was just past your wheel.

Don't worry about that - he's far-sighted, LOL.  Nice rig, Fel.  I like the fact that you CAN adjust the pedal angle.
My Obutto won't let me adjust them, but then they are in a fairly optimal angle. Can't wait to see the rocking chair you hook up to the rig.  :o :laugh

I may have fixed my (antique) DFGT, just a basic cleaning and a small tweak. Only tested for a minute, but it seemed to work good. Look forward to using it on a full track.

Anyone know anything about the Thrustmaster T500rs?

http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/t500rs

I've read a few decent reviews. Trying to decide whether or not to give it a try or go with Fanatec. I saw Fry's had one of these for $400. That's very tempting.

If you saw that Fry's had one actually in stock (meaning saw it in the store not meaning that online they said they had stock), I'd pick it up right away.  That is a very good price.  If I had the money, I'd ask you to pick one up for me.  Spec and Ballistic have the T500RS.  I have the thrustmaster shifter and I really like it.
