I ordered:

- Forza Motorsport CSR Wheel US
- ClubSport Pedals V2 US
- CSR Shifter Set US

I basically went with GoesTuna11's recommendations except that I upgraded the pedals when I read about the hydrolic brake lever. I'm trying to teach myself heel-toe for the track. Figure it's worth the investment to get something the feels as much like the real thing as possible. The really difficult bit about heel-toe in my car is that after you mash the brakes, the brake pedal is pretty low relative to the gas. Getting that right while decelerating from  100+ mph down to 45 mph and hitting a blind 90 degree corner into an off camber downhill section is enough to shake anyone up. Still don't have the nerves yet to try heel-toe there. But I'm hoping with practice I can get it down. Also want to work on left foot braking with clutch. It's a lot to work on.

P.S. What iRacing fiasco? Haven't heard about that. Was just about to sign up.

P.S. What iRacing fiasco? Haven't heard about that. Was just about to sign up.

Long story but the ISR guys filmed themselves doing the 2.4hours of daytona iRacing event.  One guy was racing Darrin pretty hard but very fair.  He was taking defensive lines making it hard for Darrin to pass.  Darrin ended up spinning himself out and rage quiting.  That's all fine as far as I'm concerned, emotions will run high in a race like that.  But then Darrin did a whole show calling this guy out blaming him for blocking him and calling him an ungentlemanly racer.  The iRacing community pretty heavily sided with the other racer and Darrin came to the conclusion that next time he would just spin the guy out.  Pretty uncool.

I just bolted the seat rails completely through the pvc. I made sure that my pvc was the same distance apart as the rails.

It was no problem. I had to cut a U out of the front of the wood so I could hold the slider handle.

Works great and would highly recommend it. What I would recommend is I bolted the rig together about 1/2 way to make it a bit more portable. If you look at my picture in the OP you can see the bolt. Overall the rig is rock solid and I went with the 2" pvc because I heard that in 1 1/2 they can get a bit wobbly (can't speak for sure though).

The changes from then to now
1 the tube the shifter is mounted on in the photo now goes down and back instead of back and down. Imagine Morgans doors for a visual.  makes for more open feel and better shifter positioning
2. currently running Fanatec gear, one of their shifters, CSR wheel and Clubsport pedals
3. down the right side is a "skin". just a piece of white paneling we had in the basement. attatched with a few ubolts for added stiffness
4. 22 inch montitor sits right in front of the steering wheel

I used inch and a half because when I priced the two inch fixture were nearly double. There is a threaded rod that runs inside the length that hold it together instead of glue.

And also oh yeah I just boltee the seat straight through the pvc. But for the steering and pedal trays I used u bolts. Bending the tubes not needed could be replicated with a few fixtures to get same effect. But I thought this way was cooler more flowing and all.

Michael Main (www.mainperformancepc.com) is taking over Obutto distribution in Canada.  They are going to have a warehouse in Vancouver and you won't have to pay shipping if you pick it up there.  getgadget.ca always seemed kind of sketchy to me.  Michael Main appears to be pretty well respected in the iRacing community.

edit: an old post apparently.  simulation1.ca is taking over not Michael Main.
