Finally found some time to play.

So far I'm liking it a lot.  I don't know if it's the greatest sim of all time like some are already saying, but it's got tons of potential and I really like the way my wheel feels in my hands.  I don't mind the canned FFB effects, in fact I quite enjoy them.  I prefer the wheel to be "alive" or "active" in my hands.  FFB feels really good to me.

Graphics are pretty good.  Single screen here and with most things turned up fairly high I'm still getting around 90 fps with my GTX 660.

I really like how each car feels unique.

Physics seem good.  Countersteering feels "right".   Smashing the gas coming out of a corner and getting the rear end loose feels really, really awesome.  First time I did that put a huge smile on my face.

You're absolutely right in regards to the P4/5 at Mugello.  Absolute blast of a combo!

I think by the time this game reaches v1.0, it's going to be a force to be reckoned with.

In other news, last night was the first time I turned on my wheel in probably 2+ months and holy shit am I rusty.  I'm so far behind the guys on that GTP leaderboard it's not even funny.  :bummer

I did manage a best of 1:50.188 @ Mugello with the P4/5.

My life will be settling down here pretty soon and I'm really looking forward to putting some serious time in with this game.

Try without the canned effects to see what you think.

Your rusty is faster than me.  I had a 1:53.xx running the P4/5 at Mugello on super softs (default) but later got a 1:53.9xx running on hard or super hard.

It really amazes me how many people have such strong opinions about how this and other sims are.  Even people who apparently have real race car experience have wildly different opinions.  Some think that it is way too easy.  While the grip does seam a bit more than iRacing or rF2, I'm not any faster compared to others.  What I think we need is some sort of sim test suite. Put each sim through a series of objective tests and measure the results and see what comes closest and under what conditions.

It is amazing how popular this sim is overall.  Each day there are several new pages in the AC thread on the iRacing forum.  Compared to rF2 this game is missing so many important features and will be even when 1.0 releases.  But rF2 has a crap user interface, not so hot graphics, and really poor graphic performance even with the not so good graphics.

The real test for this game will be the the netcode  and the AI along with the single player mode.  If either of these are good, I see myself playing this game a lot.

Anyone know what this car is:

Apparently we are getting that car along with the MP4 and Silverstone GP this friday.  If my GT copy doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this.

That would be cool although I heard that negotiating rights to the track is almost impossible with it's current state of ownership.  I've heard thoughts that it could be multiplayer or an F1 deal with Ferrari.  The Ferrari deal was from a more reliable source.

Yeah I forgot about that.  I've read that as well.   Though I wonder if they could/would release it in a similar fashion to what pCARS is doing right now.  Call it EifelHell or something.  It would sell a lot of copies of the game, that's for sure.

Multiplayer would be nice.  That would probably get me to turn the game on again.  Haven't played since GT6 came out.

Ferrari F1.... meh.

Ferrari Challenge sold their game with Montreal being called Redwood Park so that is possible.  I don't understand the legalities of all that.

Apparently the big announcement is tomorrow at 6:00am PST.

The challenges in the current build now have gold, silver and bronze levels.  They are pretty tough.  I could only get bronze on the 599xx at Monza.
