Ok, here we go, GPS Data Analyzer:

So basically, this is the equivalent of iSpeed in iRacing. Not a big deal. Dang. Someday, one of these sims is going to figure out what a game changer it is to be able to build a replica, easily, using GPS data of our local tracks. Ain't rocket science.

04:  Some changes we weren't even thinking about

Ok so I totally wasn't expecting most any of the stuff they're announcing!

Mind = blown

I really hope they can deliver on all this cool stuff too, even if it's not perfect right away (these days what game is) it's still one hell of an announcement.  WAY better than I was expecting!

It's gone from "I'll probably get it sometime" to "I'll probably preorder and get the collector's edition if they have one."

I really like the idea of the racing clubs. Hope to see a Tuna one.

That said ... I started off pretty excited about this, but everything I've seen so far seems to be a repackaging of GT5 with a few added bells and whistles. The cars look the same. The tracks look the same. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably buy it the day it comes out if for no other reason than to start my Spec Miata Monday's back up and have the ability to control exactly what car and what options are allowed. That would be absolutely fantastic.

But ... something tells me that what they release still won't do what I need to be able to do to run a true Spec race. I'll get frustrated and come right back to running Spec Miatas on iRacing, which is what I'm doing now.

I know some have suggested you can do that with this version if you trust everyone will setup their cars exactly as spec'd. I have little faith that this is actually always done correctly. I'm not suggesting there is any cheating. I think honest mistakes get made. It gives me peace of mind to know that a race has rules and the game enforces those rules. On iRacing, if I jump in a Miata, I know you've got the exact same Miata. No excuses. Driver vs. driver. And that's all I'm looking for from a sim.

We'll see.

My thoughts on the GTP/Jordan tweets...

Quote
gt6 compatible with multiple devices. playstation 3, smart phone, tablet, and pc

new user interface, focuses on quick response and short load times. balances directional key operation and touch operation

If this is anything like DashMeterPro or iHud, fucking awesome.

Quote
create your own racing series and championships to compete online

more control over player’s online events.

Good news.

Quote
new course maker features coming. new course maker coming, scenery can expand several tens of square kilometers, new course generation algorithm

Couldn't care less.

Quote
community and race clubs coming online.

Could be cool.  Will have to wait and see how this is implemented.  STGT Club?  Fuck yeah!

Quote
new tracks every month by dlc

I'll believe it when I see it.

Quote
33 locations, 71 layouts, more tracks will be provided online

A while ago, someone mentioned that GT6 would have a boatload of new tracks.  I want to say it was Lucas Ordonez that said it.  I think GT5 has 26.  7 new tracks isn't a boatload to me.  Hopefully the "new tracks every month" thing is true.

Quote
more custom parts coming in gt6, several thousand pieces of aero parts will be available. more wheels too

I'm eagerly awaiting more info on this one.  Knowing PD, it wouldn't surprise me if this means each of the 1200 cars only gets one or two pieces.  That would be an epic fail.  If each cars is highly customizable, that would be ok.  Also, I did not see any mention of a livery editor.  No livery editor would be a huge letdown for me.

Quote
1200 cars, on-going DLC, latest reading cars, histories,

If my numbers are correct, that means there's about 50 new cars.  That's plenty for me, as long as it's not 50 more fucking skylines and/or miatas.

Quote
players can create their own personalized cars

This is interesting if it means what I hope it means.  And what I hope it means is being able to swap parts.  Engines, drivetrains, etc.

Quote
wow, just saw a comparison of gt6 and gt5 physics. car moves much more naturally through the corner.

Awesome news!

Quote
gt academy has helped polyphony get new data to build gt6

Good.

Quote
suspension companies have helped significantly in dev of new physics model.

Awesome news!

Quote
totally new physics engine, new suspension and tyre model. new aero model. tech partnership with yokohama and kw auto.

Awesome news!

Quote
lots of single leaves floating and flying on the track

Little touches like this are cool.  Makes the racing more immersive/alive.

Quote
GT6 to use adaptive tessalation

Not 100% sure what this is but I'm sure it's good news.

Quote
allows great expandability of system

new rendering engine, flexible, compact and nimble

code has been completely refactored

Basics of the GT6 core is new

All good news I'm assuming

Wiz I am taking the players can create custom cars as a livery editor. Doubt they will delve into actually making an entirely new vehicle. Most would not be able to engineer a vehicle even in the cyber world with help.

Neither mean much to me I am not an engineer nor do I want to be I am a driver. And I am not artsy fartsy enough to make use of a livery editor

Hmmm.. good call, Baked.  I didn't think of it that way.  If you're correct I'll be a happy camper.

To me this...

Is better than this...

For me, the first pic just has more of a "race" feel to it, which is what I'm looking for.

Then you are going to be disappointed in my cars in 6 as the biggest change I will likely make is the choice of a different color than the current fleet from the BakedTuna Scuderia.
