Need to build a "trigger mechanism" but MasterGT's Racing Calendar is available.

MasterGT's Racing Calendar
« Reply #2 on: August 19, 2013, 10:47:27 PM »

MasterGT asked for it as a feature add-on.  I tried to get SMF/iCAL calendar integration working but it only is outbound. I also looked for a recurring event MOD, but the two for SMF 1.1.x had major issues here - it was going to require some database mods.

So MasterGT provided me the code he used at PSN. (I had to tweak it slightly)

We tried it in the header/footer last week, but being global I didn't like it much.  I tried adding it to our existing PHP files earlier tonight.  Figured a good spot for it was  at the bottom of our calendar page - boy was that effort a royal clusterFUCK.

So I found a MOD and loaded it but it didn't update things right - hence no trigger button.  But with the structure it did apply I have a temporary workaround in-place.  I will try and augment it a bit and see if I can get it functioning on it's own.  If not I will build a trigger button or something.

I'll get it to work right - but between work, wife, event planning, event hosting, and a little life I ain't had much time to tinker...

There is a special 20M credit car event coming up on Dec 29th, if any Tuna wants some fun during the holidays.

I've been saving up for awhile now. What's the car?

Let's hope it's not the Jag I just won.  The Ferrari would be welcomed.

@MasterGT,

just want to give you a heads up that we'll be updating our forum software to SMF 2.0 soon and the mod Charlie used to make your calendar work doesn't appear to be compatible.

I'll try to find another way to make it work, but can't make any promises.

Ok. If you can find something that is iCal compatible, that will work best.

Did a little research and I don't think I even need a mod to make it work.

Can everyone see the calendar in the opening post of this thread?

Edit:  if it's working correctly, I think it'd be best to delete this thread and start a new one with only the calendar in it.  Then sticky it & lock it.  Agreed?

Fine by me.

The main idea of using a Internet calendar was so that events could be added to people's cell phones and schedules. Not that many people took up the idea, however. It does work, whether on our phones or on forums.  ;)

Whoa! Opera doesn't like this forum.

Since today is a holiday, you are invited to do some spec racing tonight. The link in the calendar above works, but more info is here.

Monday Night Racing

Date: October 23, open at 7:30, racing @ 8, Eastern

Car: Toyota S-FR Concept (80,000 credits); Sports Medium Tires (it has 350 HP and weighs a bit over 1 ton)
Tracks: Streets of Willow Springs II (10); Interlagos ( 8 ); Alsace Village (6)
Chat ( 8 ): Monday Night Racing; if full, start a new one (other chat options are available)

This will be an experimentation, mainly to find out driver's tolerance for driving aids - specifically, Traction Control- starting with zero TC. Tuning will be allowed.

I really recommend getting some seat time going in the track directions used here.
