It's the first time I saw the new C7R.  Looks good.

Oh, hello beautiful...

Didn't know Turner picked up a Z4.  Love it. :)

Wow... Turner's come a long way since those basic 3-Series they used to run in the Speed World Challenge series back in the day. I've got the race on... not sure how long that'll last before the girlfriend tells me "NO MORE"... I guess it is her house after all  :-\

I watched the start but then I noticed that there wasn't a cloud in the sky so I took the kids out to the park.  I started watching again when we came back and my daughter went for a nap.  Did anyone see that horrible crash?  I hope the drivers are ok.

Apparently the guy who did the rear-ending, Memo Gidley?, had surgery last night for a broken arm and leg and is going to need surgery for an unstable back fracture.  The fact that they did the arm and leg first suggests to me that the back isn't too critical (i.e. no spinal cord compression).  I haven't heard anything new about the other guy.

edit: I'm not too sure how accurate the reports are.  I found them either on GTPlanet or iRacing threads.

Ye gods! What is it with cable channels?

I always had Speed Channel and it was glorious. Then FOX cannibalized it. And now it's gone. I have Fox Sports 1. Whoopdefuckingdo. The NFL is boring (not that I needed 24/7 NASCAR programming, but it was better).

But then NBC Sports launched their channel. I did not get that channel. For a long time. Luckily I have it now. I like open wheel racing.

Then there was Velocity. I did not have it it first, but luckily it has been added to my package. So I thought I was set on all my automotive programming.

And now I have to wait for FS2. And MAVTV.

Fucking ala carte cable is the last billion dollar business idea. Whoever can pull it off will reap some serious cash.

my sister worked in the cable business and explained it to me once:

if you could purchase individual channels, it would cost the consumer a fortune.  something less popular can only get in on the coat-tails of something more popular.  you get good deals on channels because they are bundled together, essentially.  You have to get something you don't watch, so that someone else can get that for less than a PS+ subscription, for instance.  This is similar to the way that some internet  tv "channels" such as alternative news sites and other premium content providers who produce their own content and use their own bandwidth, function.  For just one "channel" or provider, you can pay $50 annually.  Now, think of what that would be like if you had hundreds of channels?  This way, you at least get exposed to tons of content, albeit 99% useless.  Ala carte would force you to always know what you want and then order it, possibly changing your cable package very frequently.

I agree that it sucks,  but it's what we're faced with...  :(

If this really comes to a "head", then I don't t hink we'll see true a la carte, but rather, everything as on-demand, as traditional "channels" all but go extinct.  CNN can't even get Dish to carry them due to low viewership... (as alternative news website traffic sky-rockets)

The www.imsa.com site is functioning like shit today. It's too bad because there is some qualifying going on today. If the site is having trouble today because of traffic, then we can forget being able to use it for night time race coverage.

The Honda HPD is the class of the field. The pole lap was not even perfect, it could have been almost a second quicker.
