Format would be similar to the Wednesday series I ran last year with GT5 (Ferrari & McLaren).

The theme this go around would be classic European sports cars from the 60s and 70s.  And I'm not referring to high powered machinery.  No, instead this time the cars (stock) will have 390-420 PP.  These won't be the pricey Euros either - more the working man's sports cars of the day.  Given the lower power of these cars grip (or lack thereof) will be the name of the game to keep things somewhat challenging.  Tires will be sport hard only.  Drivetrain configurations will be FR, MR and RR.

I've drawn up a list of 7 cars with which I will start conducting tests to determine their competitiveness.  This series might not be a stock spec series, but I want to keep everything as close to stock as possible.  Penalty ballast will again be used to equalize competitors.

I have also come up with a list of 9 6 European Circuits for use.  As before with my last series there will be a mid season break.  And your worst race result can be dropped (top 5 finishes count).

Let me know your thoughts!  I'd like to have something ready to start in 4-5 weeks. :)

Current potential entrants list:
1)  WolfpackS2k               Alpine
2)  TunaPhreak
3)  dlrws6                        2002
4)  nosoks
5)  F1Cheetor
6)  MastrGT                      2002
7)  dmcallis                      Alfa Romeo
8)  peyepete
9)  Numbskull                   Alpine or Dino
10) Feldynn                    Alfa or 2002

Car choices won't need to be finalized for a few weeks.

Sounds like something I could get into, assuming in 4-5 weeks I have the cash/cars required.  Damn having to start over...

Maybe,  I'm afraid it may depend on what happens in the 1.06 update.  If things work out put me down for the Trans Am.  :P

Ah yes, I wasn't aware of that update till you mentioned it (just looked it up online).

dlrws6, this series is just going to be European cars.  So no flaming chicken for you!  Sorry  :D

I could totally change to another week night.  I don't want to step on Wiz's toes.

Go ahead and keep it on Wednesdays.

I'm going to move my evnet around a bit.

Been fine tuning things a bit.  From the initial list of 7 cars I've pared it down to 5, and 1-2 more may possibly get cut.

Current options:
'73 Alpine A110 1600S
'71 Dino 246 GT (detuned to 140 hp - stock is 201) ( I swear this car is like the S2000 of the 70s, defying it's PP rating)
'73 BMW 2002 Turbo (with stock 4sp tranny swapped out for 5sp)
'65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 - (155 hp with bolt-ons)
'72 Lotus Europa Special

I might shorten the series length, as racing 400PP cars may start to lose their appeal after a while.  Tracks that are definitely going to be on the schedule so far, however, include:
-Brands Hatch GP Circuit
-Silverstone International Circuit
-Nurburgring Nordschleife
-Circuito di Roma Reverse
-Circuito de Madrid
-Cote D'Azur
possibly La Sarthe (might be too tedious)

Wolf, is it the '73 Alpine, or the '72 that's posted at PS Forum.

Alpine or Dino for me.

sorry about that Pete.  It's the '72 Alpine.

Sounds good.  Having driven it a lot I can tell you it's very lively but you will most likely be surprised at how tail happy it is, mainly in lift throttle maneuvers.  I think I've spun that car out more times than some of the MR cars  :D
