Arguments should be done through PMs, this is the GT Academy thread.

fair enough, well except that it's pretty widely known that Canadian laws are the reason that SONY can't get you all included.  Something about Quebec I've heard?  Something about SONY not wanting to say what other contests say, "valid everywhere except Quebec".... I'm not saying I know this for sure, but I heard something fairly concrete on this a while back.

I feel for you though.  I wish I could say all of my Tuna friends have had the opportunity.

Though, as it was with last year, Canadians can do the Time Trials, they just won't be listed as part of the NA region (now called US because of CA exclusion).

But when we click "Global Rankings" in the menu, We'd still be able to see where you landed, so why not still give it a go?

You never know.  You might be surprised by how enjoyable it will be!

I'm really trying to ignore your posts but it's hard when you keep spewing bullshit.  It is widely speculated that Canadian laws are at fault yet I haven't seen anyone come up with a specific law that the contest would violate.  Our laws didn't stop sony before nor have they stopped iRacing and Mazda from putting on a similar type of contest.  Are we supposed to believe that our laws are so much more restrictive than countries in the Middle East, Europe and Asia?  If sony and pd don't care enough about us to include us in their contest, I don't see why I should care enough about them to participate.

There is no reason why a rational person could not include everything you typed, except for the yellow part there.

I do not agree with anyone 100% across all topics on this board.

All you needed to read was his first line 11. That was my point to showing those accounts of the difficulties of Quebec law that you referred to as bullshit.

Ex you may have brought some this on with an aggressive approach especially with political in issues in what is essentially a clubhouse for friends in racing.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO REMEMBER THIS EVERYWHERE ON THESE BOARDS

Behavior on the site should be guided by a sense of common courtesy. Respect yourself and your fellow members. Avoid controversial subjects (politics, religion) and never post in anger. Flaming is strictly prohibited. If you have an issue with a fellow member, discuss it privately. If posted material is deemed inappropriate it may be deleted without warning. Explanations and apologies may or may not be forthcoming. Members are encouraged to keep an open mind, have a sense of humor, and accept that diversity of opinion is a good thing.

Personally I have no problems with things being discussed in public. Takes away any doubts about who said what in my eyes, but it must be kept civil.

Another good rule of thumb would be PG13 or less in the OPEN areas...  Or don't post anything out there in the OPEN that you'd be embarrassed to have your Grandmother see... If you are about to raise a topic for discussion, or post a picture, and a little bell goes off in your head that causes you to wonder, "Does this cross the line?", assume that it does and desist. The rules are looser in the private areas but there are still limits.

Hey fellas,

I'm going to lock this thread up for a couple days.

Once the actual Academy starts on the 21st, I'll open it back up.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like to discuss this further.

Thanks,

Wiz

:huh  And I thought the reasons that Canadian's couldn't do contests related to their views on bacon.

And Tuborg...

Ooh, I like Brands Hatch. I'll be knocking the dust off of GT6, when I get home.

Also, how is it set up this time? Separate GT-A "game" on the XMB like last year, or did they add it to GT6?

It's added to GT6.  There's a new button on the home screen.

It's easy-peasy to get Gold.

Going faster than my friends is going to be the tough part.  :-*
