Would Ickx's co-driver's birthday be an acceptable compromize?
Well, no need for compromise since it wasn't a demand. Merely a suggestion.
But after all, it comes to the same thing: GT40's at La Sarthe. So there's no reason not to agree.

51 is the amount of wins Jackie Oliver had in his F1 career. In Le Mans, he only participated three times. Perhaps it's more suitable to pick his age? (69)

Well, actually I gathered the 51 from the number of races he participated in through out his carreer. I have no qualms going with his age, so it shall be.

69 laps at La Sarthe?  Really, how many hours is that?

Indy Road or Indy Oval?

I'd guess a little over 5 hours.

with out an actual lap time with the Ford GT-40...Based on an estimated three minuet laps it'll run about three and three quarter hours. Considering I'm looking at running these races with the standard "7-11" time frame gives a full four hours to work with. These races are intended to be longer than what we've been working with. I have been asking for longer races for some time and it apperes that the only way that is going to happen is if I draw up the race criteria. There are other driver stats that I can generate lap counts from, Lets see where it goes for now, but suffice it to say it'll be more than five should it be decreased. Additionally Sarth was chosen because that is the track where that driver partisipated in their most notible race with the chosen car, Additionally Indy is already at risk of overuse, I've pulled and or changed it from four different spots already.

Assuming you're talking about the '69 race car, I just run a few laps at about 3'35 ish.   With pit stops I'd say you're looking at a little over 4 hours.

This all looks interesting, and great theme. I haven't run the 2007 F1 in GT5 tho it was ok in GT5P, I do not like the 2010 at all, need to save 20mil before you  get to that race. The Gt40 run at Sarthe sounds like a blast... looking forward to driving the gnarly thing there

Ok, Still plenty of time before that one comes up. We have some time to play it by ear and see what everyone thinks.

Well, it's only April, the F1 car would not be needed until January, there is plenty of time.

With still 21 days to go until the next birthday, I think we can be pretty certain that either the PSN will be up again, or it will be ditched for the rest of eternity.
PSN has been down for roughly two weeks now. I don't think they can afford another three weeks of downtime.

I hope to be participating the events of July, August and September. Perhaps, if the date in June is late and my exams end early this year, I could join the June event. However, I have no certainty at all about that.
Of course, this is granted that I'm able to use my left leg again by then.

Damnit, Looking into Reeves Callaway and Alois Ruf all direct me to the companies and not the men them selves.... :-\ . Carroll Shelby, Henry Ford, Louis Chevrolet and Ettore Bugatti have information available but show problems in scedualing. I may have to pull Enzo Ferrari in favor of a driver and just leave out manufacturer founders all together.

What happened to you leg Rag?
Well, it's my knee actually. My kneecap got dislocated for a moment, ripping a ligament that's supposed to keep it in place. Then the kneecap popped back into place, but while doing so it got stuck behind my bone, which caused a piece of the kneecap to break off. On top of that, the cartilage in my knees is severely damaged.
I've had surgery 2 weeks ago and will see the surgeon next Tuesday for a checkup. If things look alright, I'm facing a 5 month revalidation before I'll be able to walk properly again. If things look bad, I need another surgery and nobody knows how long it'll take to get back in shape if that happens.
But so far, I'm not allowed to bend my leg. I need to keep it stretched.
