I'm sure most of you have seen these news articles at GTP, but just in case...

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-what-we-know-so-far/

https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-is-not-gran-turismo-7-more-substantial-than-prologue-titles/

Sounds like GT Sport is a beefier Prologue, and not taking the place of GT7.

I'm looking forward to the beta, demo thing.  I'm curious to see what they've come up with this time and I hope I like it.

I wonder what this will mean for the GT6 servers. I can only guess they'll follow that same pattern as the last few games.  But, its PD so who knows.

there was never a time with GT5 Prologue, where there was another server to keep up at the same time.  I believe it is something to be concerned about.  Would they keep GT6 up if there is something on the newer console?  It would be nice to get a commitment and not just have to guess.  maybe that clarification will come in the next few months...

I will try to pin them down as to how long they plan on keeping GT6 up, but they know that they have to keep it around longer than GT5. They told me this and I plan on putting flames to their feet if they renege. It probably is way to early for them to say anything to anybody, at this time, however.

GT Sport is just a testbed for the FIA stuff, so I am not sure about the cars they showed. Because of that, I was told that there was only going to be race cars, so that doesn't explain the non-race cars in the video. dunno

Hmmm, GT Sport. We're all waiting, right?

There is a new PlayStation 4K on the near horizon. It is probably called PS 4K for an obvious reason, plus the GPU will also support the PS VR headset better, so it seems developers, including PDI, are starting to program directly for the higher quality graphic abilities, plus the CPU is also supposed to be much faster. If you want to play GT Sport and GT 7+ on the PS4 with either the VR or in 4K, then you probably will want to get the noticeably smaller PS 4K. The suggestion based on everything that I have read, so far, is that the original PS 4 may not quite be able to handle them all that well.

All of this costs money, but if you can dump your current PS4, it will help to recover some of the new costs.

i have no interest in VR or 4k at this point. So long as they play on a regular ps4 thats good enough for me. If they don't, then I'll be done. I'll just play what i have til they (or I) die

Good news! I can hold off on getting my PS4 even longer. This might work out well as Fanatec is currently working on Sony licensing.

 :(

I have 4k but I only care about it with regards to movies and in truth so far I'm not all that impressed.  As long as the game is still compatible with older PS4s and they don't short the non-4k owners on content, I don't care if they provide a 4k option. I'd personally prefer they spend the time making their 3D presentation stronger as apposed to adding 4k.

If I sell my PS4 I won't buy another one.  If PD makes a bad decision and makes GT incompatible with the old PS4s I'm out.  But hey that'd never happen PD never makes a bad decision...  :P

The only money I plan on spending on Sony hardware anytime in the next several years is the replacement hardware to fix my ailing PS3 blu ray drive.  >:(  Maybe then I can at least play GT6 again.

This is from NeoGAF
It was stated plainly and with no room for interpretation that there are developers that already have development kits for the PS4K and that they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specs of the PS4K. It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4 but with considerable sacrifices made to performance.

Also, I see Q1 2017. Looks like I can save for a whole year.  ^-^

Pretty.

11-15 is the release date?  Maybe.  The PS blog may say so but I can't see it at work.  :(
