The rain really does get to you especially after living a long time away from Vancouver.  It does have some advantages though.  Many things stay green throughout the winter and when the sun breaks out, it is one of (if not the) most beautiful cities in the world.  Went for a walk outside yesterday in the sun and had a great view of the North Shore mountains.

Incredible day yesterday. First warm and sunny day of the year. We went down to English bay and the denman area. The beach was packed.  It was a gorgeous day.  You just can't beat Vancouver on days like that.

Here too Wiz.  106 yesterday, 108 expected today.  The water in my pool isn't much relief, it's over 90 degrees in the pool.

90 is a hot day up here...and that's where we'll be at for about a week according to the forecast. Yesterday, the temperature rose between 4 and 6 pm. Like you said, this will feel even hotter with the humidity.

I'm kind of glad I built that deck and set up a small pool.

We're setting records here every day.  Indiana summers are always miserable, but this is extreme weather for us.  I'm losing about a half an inch of water every day in my pool and I can't keep the bird bath full. 

After racing in Gar's thing, I went outside last night at 11 PM to let the dog take a final piss before heading off to bed and it was still 91 out.  I live just outside the city limits so I was lucky, it was probably still 95 or so in the city proper.

The said on the news the other night that already this year, there have been over 1000 high temp records set this year in the States.

I hate using the A/C in my car (owned it for 6 years, used it twice) and yesterday was 103 with a head index of god-knows-what... had the windows down and the sunroof open. Usually a breeze at 45 mph feels decent... but yesterday it felt like it was burning my face.
