It's getting cooler, but even my wife ate supper with me out on the balcony, last evening.

I don't look forward to winters, either, but most of ours are still fairly mild compared to when I lived further up north.

Fall is here.

Except for today, the next week is going to be downright chilly.

Still no rain.  It's been nearly three months.  It is beyond dry.  In all the years I've lived here, I've never seen it this bad.  I can see parts of Mt. Hood that I've never seen before because the snow pack has always covered it. 
Anyway, fall has arrived here too.  The mornings and evenings are crisp/chilly and have that beautiful fall aroma.
I wish I lived near Looney right now.  Nothing quite like New England in fall.

WTF Sobek? *Looks at his Sobek figurine in disbelief* I have a feeling it'll be a bad winter this year in the Ozarks..... especially if Sobek (the god of the Nile or whom i prefer to call my weather deity) is as playful as i think he might be....

 Winter is holding off a bit longer this year! Thought the first snow was it, but after that it warmed up and has pretty much been raining since then.

On Saturday, not more than about 150 miles from here, it's going to be -8C!
That's colder than a lot of our warmish winter nights, and it's only October!

The last time I saw snow on my birthday I was maybe twelve years old.

Rainy season has arrived..... where's my "wellies" It'll rain now till about January. It's a big relief for a lot of people around here without a good water supply.
