It's 76 right now and tomorrow is supposed to be 80. It is cold at night though, down to a chilly 52. If you send some of your snow to our mountains we may not have to water ration.

Come on, just stick a pipe in the ocean, yours for the taking.

That reminds me.  The fire department in Lion's Bay had to do that the other day.  Lion's Bay is a small community just past West Van on the way up to Whistler.  Apparently, it has very poor water supply.  The original report was that some guy was recharging the battery on his Ferrari when it caught fire.  The fire department completely used up all their water and had to use salt water from the ocean.  They house completely burned down.  The real story wasn't nearly as sad.  The house completely burned down but the car was really a fiero modified to look like a Ferrari.

Oh a Fauxrarri. LOL

Cold again.

-7F (-14C), without the wind chill.

almost as cold here.  The past two days I've been putting styrofoam and spray foam over some drafty windows in the basement, to allow me to play GT and other things without freezing to death.

There were some spots where you could feel the arctic air just pushing through the walls.  Not anymore  :D

It has actually helped a lot so far!

I don't think much of the windchill.  If you have a proper windproof shell, the wind doesn't affect you too much or least not me.  But -31C is damn fucking cold.  That's one thing that I hated about Calgary weather.  It hit -33 every year.  It is amazing how warm -26 feels after feeling -33.  Montreal didn't have Chinooks so it would stay cold for longer periods but I could handle the -20s ok so I much prefer Montreal weather.

My wife just said that friends in the Philippines are wearing sweaters. :'(

I walked a little bit tonight after leaving school. It didn't take long before I was really shivering, even though I was wearing extra stuff. The down vest worked, but my arms weren't protected by much. Brrr!

Down vest? If you cut off your arms you'll have a jacket.  :D

They're calling for snow here(S.C.) Tuesday night, Wednesday morning. It's coming from the right direction(SW), so we'll see.

Aren't you in Alaska, Grumpy?  :o

Looking back in history, whenever sunspots got this low after a warming period, there were decades of mini-ice ages (known as a Maunder Solar Minimum) that followed, so look out.

This is true.  People are starting to figure out that the sun is the primary driver of climate, and climate change.  The fact that something "changes" doesn't mean anything is necessarily "wrong".  The patterns match up perfectly with solar cycles.  Not so much with the Co2 emissions (despite what certain graphs in a certain movie may have tried to illustrate. -- if you zoom in closely you can see a huge gap in rising temps and rising Co2 -- not zoomed in, it looks like they occur together when in reality the Co2 is released at a higher rate AFTER the temps already rose globally.)
