Any idea what the max is?

With over a thousand paint chips on top of all the suits, helmets and horns, I'm concerned that I'll hit a limit soon.

There is a discussion about this on GTplanet somewhere. Sorry I didn't copy/link. The limit is suspected to be upwards of 6 or 7 thousand I think.

Yes, some report the limit is 7000.

so if I clear the cache in options it won't fuck up any game saves? Sorry if this seems like a newb question but these computer thingys always confuse me

Won't hurt a thing. When I can remember to, I clear mine, and have had no ill effects that I've noticed.

I've hit it twice.

I think there may be multiple limits at play...  (Just like gifting rules vary)

getting rid of 50 paint chips did not solve the issue.  getting rid of 50 car tickets did not solve the problem.  getting rid of 50  "parts" did not solve the problem.  It wasn't until I began getting rid of excess uniform inventory (don't need more than seven/per) that I was able to receive the 50 gifts in my box.  When I got rid of 50 hell mitts I was able to receive the load of uniforms from Manila.  Then it filled again.  I now have no more than seven copies of each suit and everything is once again copacetic.

Now I feel vindicated for all the paint chips I have been deleting. Counting cars, I'll bet I don't have a thousand items yet.

Why would they set these limits we have to deal with? Friends, money, items you can send or receive, total items. I mean, is there a point?
