Ninja and I did our updates at the same time.  Mine took 5-10min for both (GT5 and PS3).  His took over an hour.

The only difference was the order in which we did it.  I did GT5 and then PS3.  He started with the PS3 system update.  (I only did one console though so I have three more chances for failure)

No luck yet. If sony cannot fix this I may be done with all this BS. A console should be the least diificult of the gaming choices and yet someone within our group always has issues. Computers are way too effin complicated. I am just about fed up with all of it. Maybe its time to find a new hobby a move on.

I think I checked for PS3 updates a couple of days ago and did not see anything. What number are you updating to Charlie?

Was working with tech support earlier got so far but then ran into another issue had to call back girl told me to do this do that afterwords she mentions how it just wiped the slate clean. To which I let her know it would have been helpful possibly to have known that before wiping away hundreds of hours of progress. Pushed to my limits now. So i have no cars no money no experience. Starting over. Yeah we'll see if I am around this time next month.  ::)

I'm with Dude, I didn't see a PS3 update.  I only did the GT5 download.

After third extended visit with the staff at tech support I am back into my account and can play the game but lost everything. Have been through multiple memory sticks or whatever the right terminology is and have come to the conclusion I am screwed. So if anyone reading this wants to blow the cobwebs off of a car in their garage and pass it along it would be greatly appreciated. Those cards can be used for so much around this house I have no clue which one it is or where it is at this point for that matter. Going to treat the loss of my garage as a fire and try to gather shit up and start rebuilding.

I have no licenses but the skills are still there. Its like being placed into a new body but still knowing everthing from before. Anyone see Heaven Can Wait with Warrwn Beatty if so you'll get it.

Also if anyone feels like running my bspec guy I am whoring him out to anyone willing.   8)

That sux Baked .... always nice to have backups.  I was lucky on my fiasco a month or so ago that I had a recent save.

Would you like cars, or tickets to roll?

I am not too proud at this moment for any type of help folks want to offer.

The memory card could be in one of six different cameras or their bags as a possible starting point. Tracking it down or starting over is equal on the pain the ass scale. But the getting to drive while rebuild beat tracking down the memory card.

You should have some cars because you can re-download the DLC you've purchased.  I'll start sending cars when online.  Need anything special, just ask...

Good point Charlie, you should get one ticket for each of the DLC / Special-Ed gift cars you might have picked up over the years (Camaro Edge Special, stealth GT500 cars, etc) once they've been re-downloaded and installed.

To get some quick cash don't forget about the older Seasonal Events, those 400PP / 500PP / 600PP ones are a good place to start.  You can beat the 400PP ones really easy with a mostly stock 20k "starter car", also I'll get a selection of cars up on my shared list tomorrow that should do good for some of them.

Also, ditto what Charlie said about the sending of cars!
