A new GT web site design is now up, in Asia. We get ours later, hopefully before the next GT Academy.

It seems designed for fat fingers on phones and tablets.

I'm glad I don't spend much time on the official website if the US one is going to end up looking like that.  The current US one is much nicer, more professional looking (perhaps a touch too formal but nothing really bad) where as that new one looks like a "build your own website" version, overly simple and such.

Don't mind me, I'm old and set in my ways and just have to grumble about change :old

There's something about 2.12

I have multiple accounts.  Some couldn't sign in.  One machine was reporting PSN maintenance while I could use other accounts on the same PS3.  Investigation showed those email addresses were inactive due to lack of use.  Once I re-enabled the email address I was able to sign in again.

Wow, I wonder if this is something new. I don't remember it being an issue before.

Experiment

On the day of the announcement, I will open up a public lobby so that fans can gather for some casual racing and discussion about the news.

From Jordan at GTP, which is in Silverstone for the anniversary deal.

Formal presentations begin at 4pm BST (Silverstone time). Not sure if I will be able to live blog this now due to embargo restrictions but I will find out for sure later.

I did confirm we will be getting hands on time with a game, so I will be trying to get footage for you guys.

GT6's platform is still the big secret here. :D

First and foremost, I want a well thought out and put together game, not a collection of features thrown into GT6 at the last minute.  That means a comprehensive single player campaign not just a smattering of events that you have to do over and over and over and over again. The AI has to be a ton better.  They can't give up when you are half-way overlapping them.  PD has to decide what they want GT to be.  Is it about having a sense of car ownership?  If it is, I'm sorry but having to leave an online room just to get an oil change doesn't do it.  Having to get oil changes for a thousand cars and watch some stupid animation doesn't do it.  A car collection game mechanic is almost at odds with a car ownership game mechanic.  The more cars you get the less attached you get to any one car.  PD needs to decide what it wants to emphasize.  The game that gave me the biggest sense of car ownership was Forza Horizons because I did most of the events in one or two cars not because I had to wash the cars or get oil changes.

Of course better physics is always important but I think we are limited because of GTs audience and PDs ability.
