I was 261st when I quit last night. I'm sure I dropped a little bit... but does anyone know how many people entered?

I would feel better about myself if I was 261st out of 50,000 than out of 500.

I say "only", because last year it was around 28,000 if I remember correctly.

Anybody remember Forgetful? He made it to P7 in Canada. And Turbo is P28. Most excellent.

As for the decreasing numbers it is too long to maintain interest. One week per round would be plenty.

I think it was 1 week per round last year so there's probably some truth to that.

Not for me though.  I wish it were still going and am bummed it's over. :(   I could time trial like that all day, every day. :)

I think another possible reason for the low numbers is because it wasn't a separate PSN download/install like it's been in years past.  If you didn't have GT6, you couldn't play.

Not me prefer the company of a few good folks to share the track with

There is probably some truth to that

the final round has always had two weeks as I recall.  I could be wrong, though.

I think the declining numbers is a trend across everything GT.  It's a symptom of what's wrong with GT and the lack of development in a lot of areas.  People simply aren't playing it as much, and so Academy would see fewer and fewer participants annually.

11627 seems to be the number of participants according to someone who purposefully did a very slow lap.

I went on yesterday to try to get gold on the final and the event closed before the day was out. WTF.

105,871 global.

So I went in search of last years numbers....

32,285 USA

262,683 Global

That's a huge dropoff!

I suspect the PS4 has had some impact on these numbers.
