sweet.  good to know it is possible to get into the 1:31s.  I'll be aiming for that.

the MR cars will have some difficulty at the chicane if not hitting the right part of it.

I enter the chicane from the far right, aim towards teh inside of the S, and exit through the middle.  it has the most predictable effect on cars, IMO.

Ran a best of 132.1 after 20 minutes.  :-\ My best will probably be in the mid/high 1 31s

Goos looking times Looney!  Between that and your weight advantage (towards tire wear) I would say you're in good shape coming into the race.

Most I could get out of the 300ZX was a 1'33.3xx but I was averaging 1'34 to 1'36 depending on how badly I drive.

I'm with you guys. I tried about 10 laps last week and did a 1:32:250 but since then I have only managed one lap in the 32's, mostly in the mid 33's. I was playing with my limited settings and can't believe that I can't find the same setup again.

I think there could be a lot of dust thrown up this week.

thing is, this track is one of those that is very hard (for me, and apparently others) to replicate a perfect lap time after time.  Each one has the tiniest flaw and that's .5 sec easily.

my best is now a 1:32.1 and I know I have a 1:31 in me if I could get that golden lap in.

from my perspective, because it took a lot of practice to get down to this time, I don't think the NSX has any real advantage here at Laguna.  I have to think that my lap time is more preparation and putting laps in rather than just having "the car".

alas, what matters most tonight is staying out of the sand.

I'll be braking early and being cautious especially on the first lap when we're close together.

Don't punt me bros!

Me thinks those 5's should be 3's??

Yes, there's a lot of nuance to this track, and a couple turns that 1 tire off will REALLY screw you over, and in the testing I got in with Feldynn last night, found that even a small shift in driving style can greatly affect tire life and lap times.

With that said, bestest tire shredding lap I pulled was a 1:33.017 (I think that was with a draft) and was able to pull a 1:33.05 or so without a draft, but that was really pushing the tires, and subsequent lap times immediately suffered.

The last practice race we got in last night I was able to finally smooth out and brake early, avoid even a single tire going red, and I managed to put up 3 low-mid 1:34's in a row followed by low 35's.  Now will I be able to drive as smooth tonight?  No idea, but spoiler alert: tire wear is going to be a HUGE factor here I think, especially with the super long slow pit lane (make sure you don't blow your pit entrances either, this is one that *can* skip you through without tires/fuel!)

Glad to see some of those putting up 32's are finding it harder now, and look forward to seeing everyone tonight!  Event will be in the lounge of "dawson864" but I'll be wearing the crown.  Expect it to open somewhere in the 8-8:30 range.

I think pit stops will be huge here. I can't see myself making it with less that 3 stops and if I have any pit excursions then even more

edit: maybe 4 stops.

^I really hope you practiced entering the pits for this track.  A DRC repeat would be funny unfortunate

I've noticed a slight time reduction in lap times as well.  Last week I did some practice with Turbo-Tuna and Feldynn and hit 1:32s several times.  Then I did some tire longevity practice on Saturday and I couldn't do better than low 1:33s.

I hope there is nobody behind me while entering the pits. I am very slow when I enter now.
